For a car hauler, especially a 10 car hauler, your numbers are too low.

Agreed & flawed math skills is why people seem to be happy to move the $.30-$40 cpm cars. :biggrin_25513:

For starters, you're not going to find a lot of stingers that are going to get 6 mpg.

Ok, then 5.5 mpg? The difference in fuel is $127 more.

A new stinger is around $275,000. A good used one is around 115,000 to 160,000, so lets say $125,000. Over four years that's around 2650 a month minimum. Your insurance is going to be around that because according to your profile you have less than a year experience. Also, if you don't have car hauling experience and less than a year experience good luck getting insurance and at a price that's not ridiculous. If you could net five grand then wouldn't everyone be doing it?

For sure at least double your maintenance costs, 10k a year on a truck is a joke.

Also 20k per year is low on the payment.

    And raise your fuel cost.

my buddies fatherinlaw has spent the last 3 months down here in SW Florida taking a break from the Michigan cold. he owns a used car lot up there.

He bought 5 cars down here and had them shipped up north for 400 bucks a piece that is 1450 miles , so that is 28 cents a mile but all 5 pickup and deliver same place other 5 dont know.

I'm not saying I could. I wouldn't even know how to load one but experienced car hauler would pay lower insurance. My point was that rate per car per mile would depend on the distance and how many cars are being shipped. I don't think anybody would go pick up a single car, move it 500 miles, deliver it, and get paid $200 which comes to $0.40/mile. But when you have 9-10 small cars going 2500-3000 miles then it makes more sense.
