Yeah you and Cetane are right I think. I just went through the numbers and it seems it must be ~.86 OD ratio. I had a trans rebuilder tell me once that ALL 15 OD`s ever built were .79:1.
Probably going to be 1400 in high gear at 60 mph with a 13. -
Is high gear on your 15 up by the dash ? I had one like that , and kinda liked it.
rank Thanks this. -
Well if thats the case, then you will love a 13 speed.
It will pay for itself a lot sooner.

Yep. I don't mind it. It shifts fine just lots of spinning the engine up is all.

It makes it much easier to get something from the sleeper while cruising.

According to CAT the mechanical B was most efficient at 1475 RPM. the 15's are ok but I am like Rank I don't like the big spread between the top 3. I have a 13 in my red and black 85 model I think it's only way to go. in hill country. The one in my sig has a 6 x 4. I like it, but it makes me think about it more, the 13 is just second nature to me. Course I do twist both mine up in a pull around 17 to 1800. The pyro seems to stay cooler if you keep it revved up a little in a hard pull. Although the engine coolant does warm up till fan comes on. I figure that's the lesser of the two evils.

Go with a 13 and don't look back. The way I look at it is how often am I cruising around in lo side and need to split it does me no good

You're still running a 6+4? Awesome! Not many know what that is anymore let alone how to drive one. I recently did a covert on my 18 spd where I made a cat handle out of oak and put on the stick, and mounted the 18spd head a few inches away on my home made console. Get a way nicer shift with the old style handles, and a way better feel for the gears.rollin coal and wore out Thank this.

I was loading in San Angelo last week a young guy commented I had a cool ol 379 and asked if it was a Cummins. I just laughed and said no and it's a 359 with a white CAT with a 6+4. He had never heard of either had to see them both. He loaded before me headed to the same place I passed him not long after I got on 35. I just wonder what he thinks of a white CAT and a set of boxes now lol
