As I wrote in the past, my trainer was an idiot. Kicked out of the Army on a dishonorable discharge, did a four year stint in prison, challenged me to a fight in a customer's parking lot. Nothing like driving cross-country with a violent ex-con with anger issues to learn a new job.

I still don't know how to read a BOL :p

^ Lol. Yeah, I think you would have but I would have made sure you lost an ear or that you could not dial a phone with your left hand anymore, when all was said and done. I am an expert at beating the crap out of some ones hands with my face and head. It is ok, I can't stay mad at you, you big lug.

Seriously, I know you are a good trainer Jaso but a new driver at TransAm can not count on getting someone like you.

I felt I went to a very good CDL school, with good actual on the road training time. Yet, when it came time to go solo, I was shaky with TransAm. I don't recommend anyone sign on with TA unless they feel VERY comfortable with their CDL training and have the basics of being safe behind the wheel.

As we have said, TransAm is a starter company, NOT a training company.

Severe storms and tornados tonight across the I 44 corridor. Several trucks turned over in the area.

I have read a few articles recently that indicated that there was some dissatisfaction with shoddy work in their reporting in both the public and the private sector....and possible lawsuits. I am with you though, they will survive and thrive. This is just a legal maneuver to get out of their responsibilities and liabilities.

Violation of certain federal safety regulations is about to get a little more expensive.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is set to publish April 3 a Final Rule increasing fine levels for a bevy of different violations of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. The increased fines will take effect 60 days from the April 3 publication.
The increases are meant to account for inflation, FMCSA says, and were mandated by 2012’s MAP-21 highway funding law.
Here is a chart of all of the violations that will see increases, with their old and new fine levels:

Maybe I made a post about it in the past but in my first 6 months of driving, I was very afraid of that pic happening to me. I guess, I did not understand the trucks well enough, how much wind a truck could withstand before tipping over was a real concern. Did not understand about trailer skirts and load weight.

Our badger made a post about her tandem tires squealing as they got pushed around by the wind, as she drove down the road, that post made me sweat! I used to wake up in the middle of the night, dreaming the truck rolled over due to wind and ejected me out on to the road. Woke up rolling around in the bunk, as if I had been ejected out onto the highway. :p

Delivered the bicycles to Walmart DC in Northern Colorado. After I dropped the loaded trailer, I went to the wrong empty lot in a field and got stuck in the snow and mud....for eight hours. The wrecker almost got stuck too. He went back for an off road wrecker and three hours later was back after midnight and pulled me right out. Hooked up another empty in the correct lot and went to sleep by the front gate staging area. Went to Johnsons Corner Petro for a great omelet then sent to Grand Island NE where I am waiting for a load to Plainwell MI and Harmony PA.

I honestly believe no one knows quite what they want until they are on the road driving
getting enough experience to choose what you want is key
companies I think are good others might not
    (of course they are wrong)
the only thing I am sure of leasing with ANY company is not for newbies
so get off the fence and get out here driving
