Anyone who is wondering what happened before this happened need to re-evaluate what they said.. This basically tells me your trying to make the the HULL driver do a justified act.. The OP clearly says the tanker accidentally cut the the HULL driver off.. People make mistakes or mis-judge speed it happens.. I have been cut off many times being stuck in Toronto which has crazy truck drivers and 4 wheelers.. That doesn't make it justifiable for me to turn around and cut that guy off doing brake checks or worst do what this guy did and do some crazy swerving and brake checks.. This is un-professional and un-safe for everyone.. It doesn't matter what the tanker did because A) we don't have a video from HULL therefore you can only go by what you see, which is this video and B) it doesn't matter 2 wrongs do not make a right.. it's not a pissing match out here...

I had a driver one time almost put me into a ditch for no reason other then he couldn't pass me.. We were on a 2 lane road which went into a 1 lane road, this guy was trying to pass me but he couldn't.. He expected me to slow right down so he could pass me... Well I don't think so I was loaded with 130,000lbs and he wasn't going any faster then me.. All he was doing on the 1 lane ares was riding my rear end and swerving in and out of the lane (I guess to see if he could pass on the 2 lane or maybe to show me his dis-pleasure for me being in front).. It's not like the guy was going much faster then me and if I slowed down I would be crawling by the time he passed me then I would be going very slow.. Anyhow long story short we are back on a 2 lane road that is ending.. I am in the right lane like I am suppose to be but now the lane is ending... So I put my blinker to come on and buddy is at my tail... What does he do next.. He speeds up when he knows I need over and almost put my right into the ditch.. That is pure ignorance.. Oh and btw every time he tried to pass be on the 2 lanes, I slowed down to allow him to pass but he couldn't get enough speed and I wasn't going to slow down to a crawl just buddy could pass me and be 1 km faster then me... Every time I slowed down to help him pass I would end up running out of lane and going back to a single lane so I would have no choice but to come back over (in case you don't realize this buddy would have been behind my trailer when I come over so he couldn't even pass my trailer when he tried to pass)....

Some guys need to grow up and realize that are not driving a toy..

So what this means is that it's fine for a fast truck to go as fast as he wants to, but a governed truck should have to go as slow as the slowest vehicle on the road?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating blocking traffic, but that doesn't mean I believe the governed trucks have to stay out of the passing lane. Instead of ragging on trucks trying to pass slower trucks, why don't you rag on the ones being passed? All they have to do is back out of it for a few seconds and the problem goes away?

That SHOULD be the essence of it. I drive a 62 mph truck, and if I'm being passed by another governed truck and see that traffic is or will soon be backing up I'll back off to about 58-60 mph so the other governed truck can complete their pass and get over quickly. If there is a "cluster truck" coming through I'll stay down at the slower speed until I have reasonable following distance and bring my speed back up. I do this several times a day to help traffic flow around me, it's not a big deal, I might lose a total of 10 minutes a day backing off my speed to help out other trucks. The problem is that way too many drivers of governed trucks don't seem to have a clue, or worse yet they slow way down to make me initiate a pass and then all of a sudden the macho kicks into overdrive and they pin me in the passing lane. Pick a speed and maintain it, slow it as needed, but the objective is to keep traffic flowing around you.

yes in a way perhaps as I do the flow of traffic thing, maybe 10-15 over area dependent, when safely able.I do not weave in and out and only hit the higher clip when I genuinely desire to get out of the cluster trucker root ball scenario, which seems to be often considering the amount of traffic.

my point, not made very well,is that the slow trucks KNOW they are slow and have a very good idea regarding how long it will take to pass another slow truck,IF they can pass it at all. The truck attempting to pass the other truck should make the conscious/courteous decision on that pass to not be a 15 minute impediment to those behind him or her. why place the driver that is ultimately wanting to be passed in the position of backing out of it when he was in the proper lane to begin with?

it becomes a moot point when traffic is backed up and 4 wheelers are jabbing their brakes and cutting in and out of the traffic flow thus creating dangerous conditions. I realize that this topic is convoluted and that there are multitudes of opinions regarding it. I suggest the common sense and courteous approach but that concept is hardly prevalent it seems.

My load would have been late and out of route mile accumulated . I would have followed him until he stopped and had a friendly discussion and ironed it all out. We all have to get along out here and to many hotheads. Yep that is my story and I am sticking to it..

2 hotheads igniting a road rage incident, one pulls a gun or a knife and then we read about it in the news
