I posted the whole story - in the malone drivers trial - it came out that he had been busted running the richmond scales many times - as well as log book violations...
he was 94,600 lbs at the time of the accident (the impounded truck was weighed).
and I am not blaming every truck driver - I am one - and have been one for many years.

ones unionized status has nothing to do with this matter.
and like I posted - the only one I blame is the driver of that malone truck. -
I suppose my biggest gripe with this thread is that as experienced truck drivers we know a lot of new guys look up to us as an example and for advice -
when the new inexperienced guys read some of this "outlaw bahdahzz" trucker crap they may get the wrong idea - and then people get hurt (or killed)
good enough?
hope nobody will start crying about their toes getting stepped on - but I expect others who post on here to be responsible - and mature about the ideas and image they convey.
thanks

The Last one I was the one that took the cypress express way out in Oakland,Ca. Now that was a ride form ????
I try to stay away from the super cells when I can -
to ignore the fact that there ARE some drivers who actually make it a habit out of avoiding scales because they're running illegal, would be a dis-service to those folks lookin' to get into the Big truck truckin' industry -- and for those already in the industry who may not be aware of it,...... yet.
I don't think anyone here condones or suggest ANYone adopt that practice. And if ANYone reading about what goes on out there, that is wrong , and doesn't have enough sense not to copy those doin' what's wrong,............ I doubt they would be good Big truck truck drivers.
If we can't talk about what goes on, right and wrong, how can we tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing BUT the truth? :smt102

Some do run by the book and some don't... -
DOT can not stand EXCUSES especially when they are in the office doing a DOT auditWe try and they say we are tired of those excuses.

This was about 1990. -
-
prime example of what I was talking about happened today in N.C. -
guy trying to run into charlotte (he was out of hours) left wythville Va. T/A and headed south on 77....
he heard the NC scales were working hard - so he decided to detour on 52 thru fancy gap...
if you know the area - you what happened...
he came off the 9% grade into the twisty end and wound up dead and into the trees...
so another guy kills himself because he just "had to get the load there"...
