Is there a way to find LTL brokers for loads being pulled with a pickup truck with a 14 (or so) foot trailer?

Whoops. I remembered I asked this a few months ago and someone told me "U-Ship".

    Any other recommendations?

Load board is where I go when I am working my way back, also I let the national brokers know where I am going, every now and then they see something for me. USHIP ?

U-Ship is kind of a public load board. I've looked at it harder and it's actually kind of a rip-off. Anyone can put an ad up for lets say, moving couches or something, then have people bid on it. The problem is, anyone can bid on it, not just truckers which means the rates at which these moves go for isn't profitable at all.

I use Brokers moving freight in my area, I move direct freight out of my area. Say I carry something to Mobile Al. I will let the National Brokers know where I am and use ITS to work my way out. I have seen "USIP?" And has no interest in giving lowest price for anything I carry. May I recommend a longer trailer will open up opportunity to carry more freight, google load board you can look at them for 30 days to see which one you like most brokers list their loads on multiple sites. Also suggest contact Fab shops for direct freight. Read as much as you can on this site, a lot of great information, the discussions about rates and brokers from people who do it everyday is invaluable. Hope this helps. Mike
