Insurance companies will do nothing. You should get a break for having it but no all they care about it getting as much as they can out of you.

Agreed. And since you have never done anything wrong it is totally OK for a company to collect any and all time you spend in a truck, because the nsa and or soviet Russia should know for sure your not a terrorist or a good driver because if we trusted you we wouldn't have to film you in your sleeper.

Swift along with many other Trucking Companies are Self Insured, so the adage about Insurance Companies mandating it or getting a Discount for installing them is irrelevant.Last edited: Apr 8, 2015
The Man said Ride Thanks this. -
Woke up and fives pages already, wow. Did anyone go on the companies website? The camera only saves and uploads the recording when a critical event occurs. It is not constantly uploading video.
Oh and I enjoy the automatic Cascadia they (Swift) gave me.
I still am looking forward to the day I go to a different company. -
Read the first post please before you try to inform people on how the system works.
Also since your looking to go elsewhere why are you talking here? -
Glad I'm on the backside of my career, I don't think I could possibly put up with all the insane demands of Drivers these days. I sure like my outward facing dash cam but it will be a cold day in #%*^}%# before someone sticks a camera on me to continuously monitor what I'm doing, "if you don't trust me don't hire me". I haven't been employee material for years, I do my own thing and if it doesn't fit with my way of thinking I'll politely decline your work, but I understand there's lots of guys/gals have bills to pay and commitments and don't necessarily have that option, but you got to draw the line somewhere.
Interplanet Janet and Mr.X Thank this. -
Seems like a great way to end your career while still a rookie.
-
Rookie?? Wakeup on the wrong side of the tracks?? Go pick a fight with someone else.
Take your own inventory. -
BS. Millis has them and guys have reported that the company watches them. Without incidents. First time anyone says "driver facing camera" I'm leaving.Interplanet Janet, Aflak, freightwipper and 4 others Thank this.
