Yeah, I agree with you, but I am in Tn. visiting my son and friends this week. A female friend will be driving up with me Sun. and she will drive my pick-up back for me. I don't leave my vehicle on unknown yards. Just don't do the bus thing, plus I don't like being left hanging out to dry without a way out. (Marine Thing)!

I definately know what you mean. I am sort of a control freak myself. But taking this new adventure is all about and including taking the risk. I am going to go with a duffle bag and my credit card just in case. Haha..

Well we'll see how it goes...he's just young never been in a truck before.....ever....and doesn't have the pressure of thousands of dollars posting to his name every week...like we do....I didn't like his ch Robinson loads...or witholding the fuel surcharge and trying to justify it that the broker has to make money too,lol....yes he said that ...so I can transfer to Fontana if I need to but I am set up with some brokers and I will see how it goes...I'm not anywhere out of the game....just early 1st quarter adjustment...THX for your support...Loke Thanks this.

I'm still following this. And still thinking about joining Eagle. I must say that I do like the fact that i have health insurance and dang good coverage at that. That's a big deal to over come
-
fr8monkey ... you rebel. Frankly, if you're dealing directly with the broker, I really don't understand the point of a DM in this organization ... That's the appeal of Eagle, no DM, no planner, no CSR. Just let me deal directly with the broker.
I'm getting the impression that the DMs are less DMs and more like agents ... alibi a dedicated one.Loke Thanks this. -
Loads in the northeast pay good but the further north east like New England your gonna get a worse rate coming out, the Midwest pays very well too, just gotta know where to run and where not to run, but there is always freight paying good going into the northeast, I persoanlly don't like the northeast too much so im gonna stay out for a little while and just take some loads around the midwest

Fr8monkey, what was their physical like? I'm kinda weird as that i Don't want some strange wanna be nurse putting their hands on me or having me remove my shirt in front of them. I definitely don't want someone grabbing my junk and saying Cough!!

I am a fleet owner at Eagle, i have been in this industry since 1985 off and on. I have not come across a better lease program like these folks have. You have an opportunity to make yourself a good business and to improve yourself from a company that is ground floor being around a little over 6 months and being funded by Celadon. If you can control your loads, go to brokers and find loads, you can only choose to be at the top of the food chain, even if you are waiting for certain trailers,ie: reefers, Flatbed. If you think you cannot because of an excuse for lack of equipment, then ask your self this question. When you were a small kid playing baseball and you did not have a bat or a glove you adapted by getting a broomstick and a pinky ball and some objects to make bases. Though not equipped you still played baseball and you had success. The same applies here even though this is not baseball. Learn to use the equipment you have and you will be even better at what you do when you finally get the proper equipment. You also will know how to keep being good at what you do if your freight preference changes ie; reefer dry van. No reefer freight then go back to the broomstick, your still in the game just adapt. Doing so will make you a s success in what you are doing and that's the trucking industry secret, work with your brain not your back, and teach others to do what you do for you, and being a success at what you do rather than complaining about what you don't have.

Amen! I made good money at ATS. But I got load "offers" from a fleet manager who had access to load boards. Being abLe to find my own loads is what got me here in the first place. Not going to skimp either, day one I will have a subscription to DAT and ITS. This is a great opportunity to get practice running my own authority and I plan to take full advantage.TruckinDrummer Thanks this.

So even if I book my own freight I share 25% i negotiate do all the calling...my dm gets a piece of it? Is that how it works?
