They are owned by Knight Transportation. They are titled and tagged out of Phoenix Arizona. Transporte Tricolor (Not Transporte De Mexico) is our company that runs down into mexico. The company had a lot of trucks that were getting targeted when crossing the border as Knight Transportation. So they purchased this company and kept the name so it would be less of a target running in and out of Mexico with the same name that it has been operating under for some time. These trucks are titled and taged to run in the US since Phoenix is our corporate office. 100% of the drivers are either spanish speaking only or bilingual and are citizens of the US or able to LEGALLY drive in the US. There is nothing "illegal" about it. If you think it is "illegal" please point me in a direction as to what law is being broken.

    1. Cabotage is defined as a non-remunerated not-for-hire flight between two points within a foreign country, carrying residents whose travel begins and ends in that country. Cabotage in the traditional sense; i.e., for hire, is almost universally prohibited.

Last time I checked Knight operated trucks and not planes.

Cabotage /ˈkæbətɨdʒ/ traditionally refers to shipping along coastal routes, port to port. Now the word is often used to refer to the transport of goods or passengers between two points in the same country by a vessel or an aircraft registered in another country. Originally a shipping term, cabotage now also covers aviation, railways, and road transport.

lcfd15 please don't post common sense, I'm sure their Google search knowledge is top notch and on par with the hordes of lawyers and legal help that Knight has. :biggrin_25512:

Lol, please, I'm just not going to sit here and bash on a company that has treated me decent. Is everything perfect ? Of course not but then again no company is, in the end whatever they choose to do with there company is there choice and not mine and ill spend my time worrying about my own. As I have stated before this is America and we are free to leave this employment at anytime if we are not happy.

Schneiders done this for years. They own a company called STI out of Mexico to run their junk freight down into Mexico and beyond.

It's all perfectly legal and no company in their right mind would so flagrantly break international trade laws in the open. Knight makes their money and off newer drivers willing to work for peanuts in exchange for a little experience to move onto a real job.

I seen one drop his trailer right in the middle of the street in front of the petro in Reno NV Friday night.... Two days later when I was going back through that area I tried to pass one that was going a bit slow and the idiot almost stuffed me into the median, then he decided to pass me, again weaving in& out of his lane, while trying to eat a huge sandwich... No wonder Mexican trucks aren't wanted up here. At least the Canadians drive with better sense than that.
