To Chime In---i Have Driven A Couple Of The Full Auto Shifts.....my Opinion ,if You Drove Mostly In Stop N Go And City Driving Their Very Useful, YOU WONT SPILL YOUR JACK AND COKE WHEN TRING TO SHIFT AND STEER WITH YOUR KNEE, But In Typical Use They Are A Drag. Expecially When Your Haulen A Load Of Dispatcher Brains. Acceleration Is Way To Slow As Well As The Shift Time.no Driver Control Makes Them A No Go For Me.--------------------------------P.S. they are slow as hell. 80k pounds or bobtail they accelerate the same. And I always said they may as well take the fuel pedal out of the truck and up a stop and go button in it's place as it's compleately controlled by the computer and has zero driver response. Plus they are VERY glitchy. if you are coming to a stop and the light turns before you stop the thing will give you whiplash when it selects a gear. the computer can't select a gear worth a ####

My company has taken delivery of some Cascadias with the 13 speed Ultra-Shift and 515 Detroit engines, the drivers like them, and they are getting good mileage pulling reefers. Backing uphill is problematic, though, you have to be ready to brake and push the throttle at the same time to keep from rolling ahead.
