    "Thinking about quitting"

You know, I was having a steak and egg breakfast this morning, and I thought, "yeah, I bet that Vegan Guy is a quitter. Here's a guy that can't flip burgers at McDonalds with a clean conscience and now he wants to quit trucking school."

come on, ya big herbivore...you've overcome tougher obstacles. Get the CDLs, and I will post a picture of a salad.

All I had was a raisin/cinnamon bagel with cream cheese and lot's of coffee.

Oh and 2 slices of toasted wheat bread.

Oh and a bowl of oatmeal, with sliced banana's

Oh and a Milky-way candy bar.

    That's all.

I was just in need of a whine session. The training here is less then optimal for ensuring the acquisition of a CDL in a timely manner. I was and still am frustrated at that but came to the conclusion in my first week that I was going to have to learn all of this on my own. I got 100% on all my written stuff, and I will kill the skills/road test as well. But it won't be because of the instruction of the staff. It will be because I took the wheel and taught myself. I'm actually paying for the use of 2007 Dell computers to take practice quizzes on and trucks to drive around the yard in.

cant have any cheese with that whine. There's still quite a few of us that never went to school, never had any help. We were given a truck and a vacant lot. Take what they offer and make it work. It can be done.

I was told to watch the tandems when i was being taught. Just watch your trailer tires if you grasp that concept then youll be able to back anywhere

open your door and look as you back until you get comfortable. i do so daily.so what if you do or what anyone else thinks? 268" wb/set forward axle and a 40' end dump with the axles all the way back by design and even i open my drivers door while backing in pouring rain if necessary. the old quote when truckers were, well actual drivers, was to"put hair around it" and put in on in.

    take your time.you'll get it.

You can't pull up too far past where you want to back into, but you can be way too short.

Steer the trailer into the spot, not the truck. Imagine you're in the trailer backing it in like a bus. Set up like you're driving the trailer, you're gonna set it up just like you would a car. Once the trailer is going into the spot THEN get your truck in front of it. Just watch when you're following to the front of the trailer that you don't hit something.
