Some installations also have remote manual switches that are used to activate a VER remotely.
You really think swift is not gonna have that and use it??
Camera's are coming to a truck near you or Yours.

One of the main points they make is that no video is transferred without a critical event being triggered.
It doesn't upload video continuously, so that point is moot.
And if the memory is internal and not on an SD card the driver could not get to it in any case, unless the driver was savvy enough to hack in via Wi-Fi.
And even then it would already be too late if it was after the critical event.
The main reason to have some memory capacity would be to be able to selectively download files that have been stored, instead of waiting for a critical event to trigger the upload.
Swift says that won't happen, but...OceanDan Thanks this. -
Sure they'll use it. So? Again for most drivers, 99.9% of the time you're going to see a driver doing exactly what they should be doing exactly the way they should be doing it. Do you like to drive with your foot up on the dash? Well yeah, then you might be in trouble. As someone who has a wife and family that share the same roads with trucks, I don't see that a bad thing if Johnny-foot-on-dash loses his job for driving like jackwagon.

the manual switch that can activate the VER is on the camera its self. How would swift activate it/press the button if its in the truck?

do you not understand what the word remote means?

Any info on cameras in L/O O/O trucks? I mean saying no to a camera might be an easy way out of a lease, or being an O/O might get you out of it, but new leases might have the cameras in the wording so you can't say no. Since everyone is complaining yet not setting up an organized strike or formal protest. I wonder if there is a way out.

Nevermind, I re read that section of the website. they say some isntallations have buttons, and some installations have remotely activated events. So You are right. That is severely disappointing.OceanDan Thanks this.

on this document, first page, it says the "remote kit" is a button with a 4 1/2 foot cable. I wonder if this is the same thing that they talk about on the FAQ page.
If so, then I dont think anyone from the office can create an event "remotely" as they say in the FAQ. Maybe on the FAQ they met you could use the remote kit to activate an event "remotely"? Not sure. -
L/O and O/O are not subjected to this Orwellian intrusion.
