    @OONewbie, Illinois seems to offer testing on Saturdays at every facility around me. Not sure about the northern half of the state. Works good that I don't have to take a day off of work.

    Congratulations! I was told the same thing (about starting my CDL school at the right time). One of my instructor said that the process of getting a CDL will be a lot tougher after July, because they are going to make the pre-trip inspection a lot more detailed and add more parts to it. And also, I was told that there will be more things that could be an automatic failure when taking the road test.

    Road test wasn't an issue at all. The tester didn't care about double clutching as long as I wasn't making hamburger while shifting.
