Ok on brokers now,lol....I booked my first load on my own and did pretty good! My dm does look for loads but I feel he is overwhelm a lot for what ever the reason...I also call command whenever empty and Echo and look at the brokers boards my dm helped me get set up on....it really sucks not being able to see the rates tho...u have to call broker first or dm...but I will get better at it...😄

So I just tell my DM that I want to book my own loads and they will get me set up? Now did your DM give you a list when you sat down with him over at the Eagle building or did you get that later?
See I like running So. Cali. and TX and I know that Eagle here tends to want to send us East, and there are lots of loads coming out of NE, IA, and MO going to Cali. and TX, that is why I'm interested in the broker deal.

Are we set up to run Schneider, Land Star, and J.B. Hunt broker loads yet? If we are, how do we get set up with them?

I don't know I heard we are ok to go to landstar and jb hunt...m just learning all this too,lol....my dm either wants me to listen to him...or find my own...and he seems to only look at ch Robinson....so until I know more I need him for that...but it kind of pisses me off? but I call command and Echo set up with both and with coyote too....I look a lot but without knowing the rates I can only call....anyone know a better way or do I need a new dm? I'm actually out of arizona so Fontana might be better terminal for me....

Since you can also pull loads off the boards that are posted by your approved brokers, go ahead an subscribe to DAC or ITS. The boards should have a feature to check to check for rates on a given lane ... use that feature to get feel for the rates in the areas you are in and where you want to go ... you want negotiate for that rate. If they don't give it to you don't be afraid to walk and go onto the next broker.

If I can cut the DM out, Eagle interests me. If I have to deal with a DM - especially to get my loads - no dice. I'm still concerned about the overhead, though. It looks like I would have to gross about $20K more, to net the same as I am now.

Yeah I copied that list to my computer this morning. I hope I can work with my DM on using that list if he does not have what I need. In the paper they give us, it says that they try to find the best paying load for us depending on where we are. The one thing that bothers me is that my DM says that they want me to stay out for 2-3 weeks, but the website and my recruiter say that you go home when you want. I ran reefer, in a new Cascadia, (lease) from Nebraska to southern Cali and back to the midwest 3000 miles, it took 6.5 to 7 days to complete and after all deductions I still brought home $1200 a week, with 2 days off after each round.
So why do we need to stay out 2-3 weeks to make any money with this program, if we are dispatched right 7-10 days should be good enough?

Well I talked to my D. M. this morning and he said we can use brokers, he recommended Coyote and all I had to do was call them and get things set up. Doing dry van for now, but will move to reefer as they come, lease on trailer does not start until we get our dedicated trailer, not on Celedon loaners.
