Lincolnton, NC at RSI picking up a oad tomorrow for Houston. The Freightliner plant in Cleveland didn't have any empties so spent an extra 90 minutes finding one. I wish I could have toured the plant, I got to see an Argosy cabover that was marked export only, right hand driver. They had a few of the Western Star 5700s there, I couldn't get close enough and really wanted to check out the inside.

Petro 188 exit I-40 just west of Nashville. Dropped the Ashley load in Ecru then dm hooked me up with tcalled Memphis terminal to Wally DC in Shelby NC. I'll hit that before noon and then head to Greer and say my goodbyes to Cassie. She's really been good to me. To think I did want a Cascadia and especially one with super single drives. I've really enjoyed this tractor.

Walked up (about half miles across interstate) to the little Mexican restaurant. Don't ask I can't remember the name. I DID however have a foodgasm. Oh mah goodness. A dish called kebe tejano. Beef, chicken, shrimp and pineapple in a red gravy sauce. Delicious!!!!

Well, good to see they adjusted it for you to make it work out this week.
    Just barely, I know.

Started my clock at 6:30 at the Denver Swift terminal to make my live unload a couple of miles away. By 10:00 I was empty and went back to the terminal to get the 2 stop t-call. THAT took a good hour and a half negotiating the mess in the yard.

Finally got underway and made it to the first stop in Arvada, a couple of miles from TA West. TIGHT dock that required a full jackknife and still blocked the way in the small commercial complex. The UNLOAD actually turned into a LOAD. CSR was mistaken. Still ended up with a very light trailer.

While I was being loaded I checked out the Wyoming I-80 situation. Not good at all. Closed with another major pileup, this time with a fatality and a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Talked with my DM and he agreed I should reroute west on I-70, then work my way back up to I-80 in Utah. It will add about 50 miles to get to Tracy, CA; but well worth it. Otherwise I'd be writing this from Laramie and no idea when I'll move. Now I'm at the beautiful rest area in Parachute, CO for a 10 after running bare and wet passes with good speed.

That accident on 80 was something.
I watched a video of 16 trucks trying to stop, and all crashing.
And it seemed like all of them were going too fast for the conditions of heavy fog and slick roads.

I watched the video as well. Speed too fast for conditions definitely was a huge contributor. I would not have been driving that fast on that road in my car.

And yet whenever any of us are on 80 and its icy, drivers are telling us to hurry the f up on the cb. I hear it all the time. Especially when I'm on my way to shut down.

As a public service announcement to my fellow Swifties do not get the Jalapeno Chicken sandwich from Wendys. The chicken sucks, it's NOT spicy, they use melted cheese which makes the bun disintegrate and makes a mess, and most importantly will send you to the bathroom. Repeatably as in oops sorry brb you've been warned bye

Here in Sayre, OK. Wondering if the freight is slow all over for everyone. Went through Amarillo around 1730 and every truck stop was not even 1/2 full and pulled into Sayre here and barely 1/4 full. I was even to get a spot, legal one, right next to the fuel island. Well today awoke to a message from my DM telling me that she heard that I wanted to switch boards and was asked who to I want. All that could say is who did not want. Asked if she was even curious as to why and she said no, she knew why and she messed up, especially this last week and weekend. Well she was going to let me know when the switch was done and whose board, still waiting for that message. That was about 10 hours ago was told that it would be today. Guess that forgot again.

Smooth run today from Parachute, CO, especially with a light load. Now I'm in position to deliver on time. Had I blindly followed the fuel route not sure that would have been possible, with the I-80 closure in Wyoming.
