I planning to buying a truck Peterbuilt and has been fixed with a glider kit engine. Does anybody know if I am going to have limitations when loading to California or any other state? Or foresee any other problems?
Thank You

You have been trucking for 20 years huh??
1) What engine has it been "fixed" with?
2) My crystal ball is broken.........unable to "foresee" any other problems for you. Sorry. -
Remember this. Cali will only let in post 2010 engines into cali. My advise with a glider with pre emission engine. STAY AWAY FROM CALI!

@ SMT atham, I don't appreciate your sarcasm, we are here to help not bully one another if You can't help don't comment.

can't run calif if the engine is pre=emission and does not have a DEF system

Why Glyder when you can get a 2016 with extended warranties for about the same dough... Think about it, Reman engine, 200k warranty: Not good.
Besides, awesome MPG and reliability don't come standard on those things you know? You have to work for it: Low idle, easy on the gas pedal, change oil, adjust valves, warm up and cool down your engine properly and so forth. Same principles apply to today's motors with similar results.
Do tons of research, talk to REAL owners of modern equipment, reach out to people outside the Glyder Church and you'll see why a new truck is the way to go. "EPA motors" have come a long way since 2008.
I know I might get slammed for being against this things, but I don't really care. After 14 yrs as an owner op. I hardly ever hear any information of any value any more.
As far as the California thing goes, is very simple: No PM filter = No California. DEF is not mandatory, but PM filter IS.
I know, stay away from California right?? As if we all knew what freight is gonna be doing in the future... And then what. Retrofit a Glyder?? LOLEDN2013 Thanks this. -
Lol glider is the way to go warranty dont last forever and even if it is under warranty you have downtime and truck payment is still due oh and dont forget the def fluid you have to put in and no gliders DONT cost as much as new trucks and the pre emission motor will last twice as long before a rebuild also detriot ddec3 will pull good fuel mileage.

I think some clarification is in order. With a Glider, it's not that you can't run Cali, you just can't get caught running Cali without the DPF.
Long FLD, GoneButNotForgotten, Hurst and 1 other person Thank this. -
Glad you brought this up icesheeple. I have always wondered if DOT can tell if a truck is a glider model just by a quick exterior observation. For example, if you are rolling through a coop, will they be able to tell that it is a glider without popping the hood or crawling up under it?
