My comment is insulting and condescending. I'm saying it's not directed at you but instead the buffoons that broke the chain of custody and let this happen, more than once.
Pretty lame to lose / misplace / etc. explosives of any kind......... BUT I worked for a client that didn't know I was directed to, budgeted for and completed a million dollar section of pipeline. The left hand never seemed to know what the right hand was doing in my case.
But seriously, I'd have some serious arse over this.........

Yea its happened twice already. They "found" them a month later. Except last time, the charges were stolen not the detonators. My dads cousin works for a wireline co. And he is the one who prepares the boom sticks. All the explosives are locked down tight. ATF pays visits too.

Ive seen him make perforating guns. They use a shape (cone ) charge. Much like an HEAT shell, penetrates the gun casing and essentially burns a hole through the casing and cement.

Used to do wireline work in West Tx. Had a lot of detonaters come up missing. All kinds of rumors and theories all over the place.......Turned out to be sloppy record keeping....Bet that's the case here.
ATF interviewed everybody one on one, background checks and lie detector tests for all as well. They are pretty thorough....and that was way pre 9.11 as in 1982...
Also agree whether theft or sloppy record keeping it almost certainly is an inside job...ATF will probably think so too....Last edited: Apr 30, 2015

I can tell you where you can find bombs and detonators in the desert. Bombing ranges. I worked on them. "Duds" yes but they will still work. And that was 30 years ago. Edit-I can but won't tell. But it's not hard to figure out where a bombing range is.
