For the privilege of getting a work out is my guess, that's what I hear all these guys going flatbed say they what to do it for ..
tractorman1970 Thanks this. -
The fee for tarping hasnt gone up in 15 years!! WE should all refuse to tarp untill they pay more!!
-
How do you figure? If you're getting $40 to tarp the load, it would have to take you 5.5 hours of tarping time before you're only making the minimum wage. You ought to be able to get it done in half that time.
ronslam, tractorman1970, Streamer and 1 other person Thank this. -
If you are paid a fair wage the accessorial pay shouldn't be an issue. If you are NOT being paid a fair wage; you should move on. At any rate..........40 bucks to tarp an "average" load figures 20 bucks an hour; maybe a shade more. Not bad enough to come on here and whine about it, IMO.
truckerlife74, Jake Elliott, Streamer and 3 others Thank this. -
It's part of the job, you don't like it move on. Plain and simple. If enough people don't like and move on then more compensation may come about (supply and demand). But for now be happy to be working and putting food on the table.
tractorman1970, truckerlife74, Jake Elliott and 2 others Thank this. -
It generally takes me 1.5 hours to load, secure, and tarp a steel coil load. That works out to what....better than $25/hour? Yeah, that minimum wage I get sure sucks.....
tractorman1970, Jake Elliott and Raymia Thank this. -
Just load it, secure it tarp it and get on down the road. That's trucking !
Jake Elliott Thanks this. -
You're joking, right OP?
You cannot seriously be that lazy and ill-informed. -
Invest in a coil bag or two!!
