I should hope so. New York State police said that he had a BAC level of .19, more than twice the legal limit. And I agree, the pick up truck driver spitefully maintaining the same speed limit as the tractor-trailer was a jerk. There's no need for that petty behavior on the highway. I'm just glad no one was hurt.

I see idiots doing that all that time on the thruway, just sitting there hanging next to me with their heads up their wazoos. That when I usually have to back off, and sometime glance in the mirror at them, and mouth the words "go, stupid!", then they wake up and finally pass.

One cold frosty morning going through a river valley I saw a pickup coming up on me fast....I let off on the foot feed and let him go past me, as there was a lengthy bridge ahead of me...he hit the bridge and wrecked, spun out and down into the ditch he went, upright. I rolled across the bridge in my lane. Had I stayed on the throttle....we would have been on the bridge at the same time...looking back, that was a smart move I made. Assess the situation, whether in front OR behind you...and it could benefit you.

It looked to me like the covered wagon did ease off, but the pickup matched his slowdown...lets just say...it's idiots like those 2 4-wheelers that keeps me out of purgatory (my description of the N/E)...yea, idiots are everywhere, but there is an over abundant supply up there.

Ok rewatched and to start off when the car attempted to cut in front the truck was so far up the car ahead of him the camaro would have hit it to be far enough forward to not miss the truck.
Two truck not slamming breaks to let him over was smart as the dash cam car would have rammed him and in the small spot the camaro was attempting he would have had to slam breaks. And pickup would have still hit him.
I truck break checked as soon as the camaro got behind big no-no.
Dash cam was way to #### close the entire time. There is no reason that three cars should withing the same length as a semi.
Truck backed off once around 1:13 pickup slowed then again around 1:38 pickup kept slowing down with him he got back on it at 1:48. Pickup was being a real pain. Now granted where the truck driver fouled up at was seeing this should have been watching his mirror and been on breaks around 2:20 when the car ran off the road but he had made contact and was on the shoulder before the first break tap at 2:26. 6 seconds from the start of the worst and then breaks seems a bit long.
Less than 4 seconds from time of car hitting shoulder and truck connecting the Pickup
Now hind sight is 20/20 so can't say anyone of us would have avoided it we just like to think we could\would.

Now the next part I really have a problem with is the tanker not stopping to check and see if the people where ok. Cars generally check other cars first we need our fellow drivers to help us :)
We see and know incidents will and do happen anywhere any time but personally it bothers me most the lack of give a poop so many have towards other humans.
So for me this a epic fail on 2 wheelers and 2 truck drivers.

Alot of covered wagons haul steel / coils. Good thing the truck stayed upright. If those jokers only knew.

It really escapes me how anyone could fault the pick-up driver or the truck driver.

This was not a road rage incident.

The manner in which the Camaro attempted to get in front of the pick-up truck was unsafe and reckless. Do any of you give rightaway to anyone who drives like that? The camaro is basically forcing the pickup truck off the road to get them to concede the right of way. IT probably did upset the pick-up truck driver, but that driver did nothing wrong.

He may have been holding him back and calling 911 to report a reckless driver and possible drunk driver. For all you or I know, that pickup driver saved some family from getting killed down the road. What reasonable person would ever think that a another driver would try to pass another vehicle on a gravel/dirt shoulder at highway speed. It sounds crazy. A million of people get stuck behind a vehicle moving slower than the want to go in the left lane daily and they just have to wait until the jam frees up. Us truckers without speed limiters deal with it every day.
