I use to go to Texas alot from the east. Getting back to the east was always a challenge and I have spent many a days looking and hoping something would pop up going back east. TQL repeatedly post loads out of Henderson TX going back to the east. If you are sitting in Dallas and you see a load from TQL from Dallas back to the east, you call on it they will say "its picking up just outside of Dallas in Henderson," but when you tell them that it is 130 miles away they will say "yea but you are deadheading east, which is the same direction you want to go." My point is they will post the load out Dallas but it is really picking up 130 miles away in Henderson. This to me is misleading.

They do this stuff everywhere. They will post the load out of one place and you might get lucky and it pick right there or it might pick 300 miles down the road. TQL will attempt to fatten the loaded rate up, and will tell you well you are making $3.00 per loaded mile. Yes I am, however I have to deadhead halfway to Pluto.

I would say anything over 25 miles is misleading.

I prefer the load to be posted in the correct city, most of the time carriers are searching for a certain radius, so the load will pop up anyway if it's within the radius. Just be fair and post as much info without giving away the product. A target rate would be nice but not needed. But certainly pick up and delivery dates and times. Weight and multiple picks or drops.

Lol x2 regarding multiple stops. I had a guy call me last week offering a load picking in Philly dropping in Exeter nh...needs tarps and had a drop in Belfast Maine....ummmm that adds a bunch of miles that didn't get mentioned in the initial offer.

Be upfront: give me the dims, required equipment, piece count if applicable, stop offs, appt times if required, weight, actual pickup and delivery zip codes.

Then Ill tell you what I will do it for $. You are welcome to make an offer of what you want to pay (tho personally it won't have much impact on what I tell you for price) .

My carrier will walk away from.a load if an extra drop is added at the last minute. Be up front on everything involved, and be prepared to pay a fair rate for all the work involved and equipment time involved.

Not a driver, so I can't speak from personal experience... but from what I've learned, you should always post the load for the actual city it is loading out of. Even if it may be 15 miles away, the drivers and dispatchers already know that- they have the ability to search distances and most load boards will provide that info to them automatically anyways. Plus, depending on which direction the truck is from the actual pickup, posting it as Dallas may actually make the pickup location appear farther away than it should. Might help to entice some drivers, but it will scare others away and annoy those who already know where Mesquite is. Just my two cents.

So you want every load to be zero dead head , routes you to the house, lightweight and pays over three dollars a mile for the thousands of miles

Who the hell pulls a flatbed with a Freightliner anyways

Get a bigger truck then you won't mind a heavy load

Had some moronic broker begging me yesterday after I made my non-negotiable quote, "comon bro that's $2 per mile on a lightweight load you'll get great fuel mileage" I told him the 5 or 6 cents a mile improvement due to better fuel economy was not enough justification for 90 cents a mile reduction from what I told you i'd do it for on a load going to dead hole Ohio. Get so tired of broker talking points.

I agree, I wish the load boards would enforce this more closely. TQL is the worst at this. 100 to 150 miles off is the norm for them. They had loads posted out of Mobile listed in Pensacola. Said the truck companies may not know where Mobile is. Really? And you would trust them to haul for you.
