back in the day we didn't even have milk crates, we had to steal phone books from the pay phones and sit on those. You ever try to sit on a stack of phone books while going down a 7% grade? We didn't have windshield wipers either. You either drive fast enough to get the rain to blow off the windshield, or you reached out the window with a dirty rag and tried to wipe it off while driving. (It's a joke...relax)

Good one Ditch Doctor!
Look, I didn't mean to start WWIII or offend anyone. And I like listening to more experienced guys when it comes to things like tips, tricks, easier ways to do things, things they don't teach in school, etc. It's just that the CB and the truck stops have a constant refrain of "When I first started in trucking, we didn't have [fill in the blank here], instead, we had to [fill in the blank here].
I agree the trucking world would be a hell of a lot safer if every driver out there had at least 10+ years of experience. 20+ would be even better. But that is simply not reality. The reality is, for better or worse, there are a lot of newbies out there and a lot more on the way.Ditch Doctor Thanks this. -
I agree with some of what your saying harleydude. Some of the more seasoned drivers can have a lofty attitude about them at times. However, I don't agree with the way you are saying it. On this board its sometimes better to hold your tounge and skip a few comments.
Either way, good luck with the new company.AfterShock, Lonesome and MrHarleyDude Thank this. -
The trailers at SuperService are the worst. When SuperService acquired Gainey it was all downhill.

As a trainer myself I can assure you that we are at least half crazy and most of us full crazy. Thanks for noticing.MrHarleyDude Thanks this.

No, to me anyway, that trainer sounds wacko. To want to be together 24/7? Not go home when you can? I would have bailed, too!icsheeple and MrHarleyDude Thank this.

Apparently, sarcasm is something you aren't capable of grasping. Nice first post though.joseph1135 Thanks this.

We are both missing the sarcasm here I think, lol. I only meant that in a teasing sort of way! Who wouldn't want those features if the option is there?Ditch Doctor and carramrod32 Thank this.

Maybe he just felt guilty for leaving you in the truck when he was at home? I'm sure someone will be on here crying tomorrow, " My trainer went home 4-5 nights a week and left me in the truck."
And #####ing because your trainer wanted to make sure you knew the ins and outs of the job? God forbid you actually learn something while on the truck.
No there isn't a driver shortage at all, there is however a shortage of quality drivers.
After you've made it in this industry 12 months and proved you're not gonna be part of the 75%, I'll start worrying how comfortable your candy ### is in the equipment.
