What a tragedy. It's one of the perils of hauling gas especially at night or the early morning hours. I've been approached in the past by some wing nut wanting money etc.
i know of a couple of my fuel hauling buddies have been robbed or held at gunpoint by idiots/cowards who can't live an honest life.
whats amazing though is that the store was well lit and open. I can't believe that nobody saw the commotion. I guess the driver didn't stand a chance.
I just hope the person/ people responsible are caught quickly.
Theyre just an evil menace.Wild Murphy and tsavory Thank this. -
So sad. One of the stupid dangers of overnight deliveries.
tsavory and Wild Murphy Thank this. -
That was one of my biggest fears when I hauled gas into Chicago at night. I don't miss it.
tsavory and Wild Murphy Thank this. -
Really sad!!! A man trying to make a living and provide for his familly shouldn't die that way.
I really hope they catch the low life who did this quick. -
The news article left me wanting a little more info. How sad. I've always emphasized situational awareness to all. Things can go south real quick. Stay alert out there.

One store in particular, in the south west side of Chicago, the store was closed and nothing but the warm glow of the on the pump. Used to leave the crowbar I used for popping off the metal drop lids hanging from the open door of the cam box. Wore a head lamp so I could see what I was doing.
I'd rather drop in the middle of nowhere Harvard, IL in a huge electrical storm without a rain jacket then go to that place in Chicago -
Today we have many criminal minded people and most feel they can get away with it and no matter when we are out of our house, we're unsafe.
Prayers for this family and friends.Ougigoug Thanks this.
