Check to see if you have a Ryder truck parts center near you, I get mine for the warehouse in GA and pick them up myself, $90 out the door.

Ran my fuel mileage for the week since the muffler fell off, and it looks like I've picked up 1.1-1.3mpg. Too bad it's starting to throw CELs a few times a day. I could get used to 6mpg, especially for a winter mileage through Appalachia.
I've had a few hundred pounds of plate welded onto the trailer, so I'm trying to shave some weight off the tractor if I can. The old muffler and 63" stack weighed about 80lbs, and the vertical support looks like another 45lbs. -
My truck came from the factory with mufflers like that. On most (not all) T600 and T800 the stacks behind the cab are just 5" straight pipe with heat shields. Mufflers are in cradles (duals are 2 mufflers - not a Y from a single muffler - for whatever reason) hanging under the frame rails beneath the cab. Basically just a couple of C shaped cradles bolted to the frame rail with thin stainless straps that keep them secure.
-
Can I borrow the last 6 of your VIN to see what those cradles run from KW?

They're more like a "J" in shape than a "C" - you get the idea though.barroll Thanks this. -
I don't imagine they'd be too different from the air tank hangers on my K100, I'll take a look and see if they did any R&D in the 20+ years between then and when your T600 rolled off the line.

Barroll, take a look under any W9 that still has its mufflers, they have the same type of hangers as what RC is talking about.
barroll Thanks this. -
Has anyone tried to get rid of the necked down area in their Donaldsons?
I really don't like how my M100463 necks down in the upper 1/3 of the muffler. I'd say it drops down to about a 4" inside pipe in there.
Post #98 has a good pic of the necked down area. -

Hmm, thanks Oscar. I'll have to try that....and hopefully not destroy my muffler in the progress, lol
