Maybe they should of installed sidewalks after people walked a path. You know for being independent and making one's own path. Some kind of philosophy mind stuff.

I don't work at a job to set arbitrary standards. I work at a job to make myself money, in the process I assume I will make the boss some too.

If you want to jump through some meaningless hoops for some employer go knock yourself out.

What is clearly implied in the rule is that a driver is of less value to TMC then the perceived damage to the grass. I will not work for someone that thinks I am of less value then his grass. There are countless other companies out there that respect their employee's more.

I worked for TMC from May 1994 to Feb 2011. Almost 17 years. And the thing about getting fired for walking on the grass is BS. They will say something to you, but won't fire you just for that. They spend a lot of money on the grounds at Des Moines, and don't want people screwing it up. Besides, if you walk on the grass there anyway, you are a dimwit. There are really nice smooth sidewalks anywhere you may need to walk there.

They provide their valuable drIvers with nice sidewalks that go literally in a straight line anywhere you would need to walk. They spent more on the nice concrete than they did on the grass. If you walk on the grass there, you are doing it on purpose, and are taking the long way around to anywhere you may be going.

Time and money is lost with broken trucks. Doesn't matter what side of the fence you are on.

Tmc wont actually fire you for walking on the grass unless you do it over and over again, if you off track your trailer on the grass though you will be in some ####. The company is what you make of it, I realized pretty quick working for them that the money just wasnt good enough to justify the extra time required to secure loads and tarp them. The trainers make a lot of money yeah but as a solo company driver you arent going to make much more than you would for most other companies that hire new drivers. I've seen their freight rates and I was actually really disappointed to see how low they are, I've seen better rates for 500 mile intermodal runs than I saw for some of tmc's 700 or so mile flat bed runs. For how high their standards are I would expect their services to come at a bit of a premium but they really dont. The new petes they have do all have camera's in them but from what I understand they only transmit data to the company when you have a hard brake or something. If you drive for them you better become a trainer or get on their specialized division because your average company driver wont make more than 800 or 900 bucks gross a week and that is for 14-16 hour days.
