Been a machinist for a decade. Got laid off from CNH in Goodfield. Now it's time to make some money doing something else I like, driving. I start school on May 18th, at ICC. I have several pre-hire letters (us xpress, Schneider, western express) and am looking hard core at paschall truck lines. I'm also a felon, which will hurt my chances at getting work. I'm a vet, too, served in the army.
My youngest felony was in 2012, so does anyone know who hires the felon types? No one seems to know that a felon will work harder because they have something to prove, at least I do.
Thanks, everybody.
hey y'all

Several companies to apply with that cut slack for felons. They bend their own hiring rules and some are pretty good outfits. Of the 3 you listed, Paschall would be the best followed by Western Express,"in my opinion."
Navajo Express
PI&I Motor Express
Freymiller
Comet Transportation-Harvey, IL
Carolina Cargo-teams
Roadtex Transportation
Submit lots of applications and submit them during the first week of CDL school; don't wait until graduation. This gives you time to look over the job offers and have something lined up the day you graduate.imadawgfan and rda2580 Thank this. -
I'll check em out, thanks for the help! These are some I had never heard of...

Welcome to the TTR boards. "Youngest felony"?
Best of luck.

Aka last felony. Thanks!

I know what it meant...
More than one might be a bigger issue though.

It is with maverick, apparently. According to the TSA website, none of my felonies would disqualify me for a TWIC. That's good news.

I've got a new top three, since I've been shot down by Roehl, USX and Marvin Keller, among others.
The following are ready to start orientation, but I'm not sure who I should throw my hat to.
PTL
McElroy
Air-Land (local-ish outfit)
I'm not looking to be home every weekend, it's not a priority. I'm not looking for a stepping stone company, either. I want to gain my experience AND stay a while (years and years) wherever I go. Suggestions are welcomed. Western express is still in the mix, but I'm leaving away from them lately. Honestly, i never thought Air-Land or McElroy would want to hire someone like me. Chinatown?
