My fixed costs are $1103 a week.
So me blowing a day will cost me $157.
The $15 won't even cover the fuel for me having to go out of route to an OC.

All to sit through hours of hazmat videos and tests (which I did 5 months ago when I joined Schneider) and when I don't even have a hazmat.

    :protest:

Your a really smart guy. But you have to cool down a bit. You remind me of myself sometimes. Some things annoy the hell out of me. I can't stand wasting time with things the are the result of someone else's shortcomings.
I keep telling myself, it just isn't worth it.
They give us what 2 or 3 months to do it? I'm sure you pass thru at least once. It only takes 30 minutes.

Get out of your comfort zone and book a load that runs you through an oc. It's easy to manage getting through an oc once every 3 months lol

And how is watching a 30 minute video blowing your whole day? Watch it in your 10 hr break

    30 minutes?

It took me around 4-5 hours to complete it all in orientation.
The hazmat section is the longest of all videos and tests by far then anything else done in orientation on the computer.

Unless this is different from the one in orientation it's way longer than 30 minutes.
I'm cool with safety and lessons that's fine but I don't appreciate my time being wasted on pointless activity when I could be making myself and Schneider money instead.
In the 5 months I've been here the closest thing to hazmat that I've hauled is cat litter.
Schneider is just lazy and unorganized.. that's all it really is.
Instead of taking the time and effort to create a system that will actually work on drivers laptops they don't.. which is one thing but also they could set up a way for only hazmat drivers to take these tests and not everybody.
The laziness and unorganization runs throughout Schneider.. including telling ICs in Cleveland there's no MTs around within 500 miles lol.
Or having relay loads going 40 miles in Chicago pay over $800. There's been multiple times I did loads with incorrect pay. While yes it benefited me I'm just pointing out there's a lot here that's a silly mess.

It's all part of the game, I might be pissed over a lot of dumb stuff like this but when I see my paychecks I forget all about it and all is well lol.

The work we do requires very much time and patience. Sometimes we are on at our limit and it just doesn't take much to push us off the edge.

    Okay I will trust you.
I've been recalling the hazmat tests I did in orientation which was a nightmare.
