    Why not?

I forward facing camera in place that is solely there to protect you AND the company from being screwed over by a money hungry attorney, thats looking to come after you and your company for an accident that you didn't cause or weren't at fault in....and this is a bad thing?
Everything that happens on the road is not the fault of truck drivers and I believe it's way overdue that the blame be put on those actually responsible. And video provides that. Trucks and drivers of trucks have always been finger pointed on everything and that simply is not the case. But, because attorneys and sue happy people see, "DEEP POCKETS" with truck companies, they are usually placed at fault and unjustly.
If video even's the playing field on accidents, why are people still complaining about them? I'm not in favor of cameras looking back in to your sleeper, or focused in on your face, but if they can provide 180 degrees on things going on around the truck's outside, while in motion, I say it's a great thing. Plus, maybe it makes the driver also think about 5 minutes ahead of the truck and keeps him/her on their toes, as well.
Besides, I'm sure they are not watching you while you are stopped. Some of you need to quit living in a total
    conspiracy world.

I want at least 1 forward facing camera in my future trucks.

Agreed. FF cameras need to be in place, and nothing more. I feel you are getting into some "Rights" violations if cameras are intended for other uses other than forward facing. There is absolutely no need for video of the inside of cab operations, or whatnot. I'd be ok with non-audio cameras as well. As long as video can provide proof outside of a truck, that's all that's needed. Heck, they can even telemetry the truck and video at the same time. But, nothing more than that. There has to be privacy issues at stake here if cameras are used for other things other than face forward.

There is no expectation of privacy if you are in company equipment and it sucks so if they do put it at inside camera they can do what ever they want. But personally I would say I'll let you peek my truck if I get to peek in your wife's bedroom. Pervs have all kinds of jobs including safety director . That said I think all trucks should have a forward facing camera, in Cali insurance scams are a skill set

Gentlemen, we have more threads then I care to count on driver facing cameras. We're not going to play that game in this one.

Granted, my knowledge of TMC consists of what has been posted here over the years.

But, from what I could extrapolate this is the problem I have with TMC.

High standards are fine. But you must pay a premium wage as well. It just isn't enough to give a man a shiny truck to ride around in. That isn't what pays his bills.

I do agree on this point as a current employee. the shiny truck is not everything. Some days I wonder if they want us to work or clean our truck

Since TMC is now an EMPLOYEE OWNED COMPANY the employees should have more say in a WAGE increase and any on going CAMERA issues

what do you guys mean by "walking on the grass?" Are you talking about at their terminals? Never mind on this post after reading more posts. btw... will they get on to you if you cover the camera with something during your 10 hour break or sleeper birth time? I also read a post from this thread.."why would you go to work for a starter company if you have experience. I have 31 years of experience. I searched all over the web and there are no high paying super trucker jobs to be found. And TMC is not just starting in business. Yes they train new guys. I think that's great. I would rather a young man train to work than live off of welfare that we all pay for. we all start somewhere. They have approved my application but Im weighing out the difference in where I work now and deciding if I want to Tarp, strap, chain, etc. Its not always going to be on sunny days when I have to Tarp.
