That is both funny and sickening. I feel absolutely no sympathy for him and his future. We have all seen pics like this over the years, and we have all seen pics like this repeated all over the place, all these years.

For the life of me, if I am able to live to be at least 100 years old, I will no longer be amazed at the utmost stupidity of drivers, and I can only call morons like this, drivers, and that in of itself, is a stretch.

It is the dumbness like this, that gives anyone that hates trucks and especially truck drivers, all the ammunition required to come at us full bore. We continually biotch about this organization, or that one.

But all we do is talk about it, then go our separate ways at the end of the conversations. We will NEVER band together to make a difference, and organizations such as OOIDA can only do so much, with what little membership it has.

Until better driver training schools are set up, and the CDL Mills are gone, we will be made to suffer the stupidity of others, and cry a river of tears, all because in the end, none of us cared enough to police ourselves and our profession, but allowed non-trucking organizations to do it for us.

As I view the pic, and the stupidity of it all, I am so glad I will be out of this shyte in a few short years, then all of you that have a long way to go, can continue to not police yourselves to make this industry better than it is now, and allow citizen activists groups to control you, your pay, benefits, hours of work time, etc, etc.

The other side is probably 10'6. Usually, a couple miles before you get to a low overpass, there will be signs. There will be alternate routes posted. The only 18 that could make an overpass that's 10'6 is a flattop skateboard with a grass burner exhaust. A midroof won't make 10'6.

Yep. "My GPS sent me down this way! I should sue TomTom! It was a truckers edition! It's not my fault!" Driving blindly down the road, not bothering anyone. Before this, he probably thought that he was a good driver because he had a perfect safety score.
If you look carefully in the picture, you can see him getting out to do what may possibly be the last post trip inspection of his career.

Why would they fire him considering the driver shortage.

    Shaffer.

No, he was. That pesky bridge just decided to lower its standards. It was 13' 4 last time he went through I'm sure!

Werner is hiring. I heard a western express driver trying to recruit over cb the other day. And I know C.R. England just lost a driver a day or two ago. He'll have his pick of the litterbox.

He should have put the hammer down and gained enough momentum to get out the other side. Then pretend like nothing happened and go about business as usual. "I have no idea what happened, the truck and trailer were like that when I got them."
