    What costs more, a plane ticket or the truck? There is no second chance if you hang up and DH the truck home.

    Seems the OP is afraid of the driver. He just doesnt get it.......GO PERSONALLY AND PICK UP "YOUR TRUCK " PERIOD !!! It's only common sense. Nothing personal, just do it.

    Just be careful firing an employee. Check PA and or LA labor laws. Firing an employee can be difficult and costly. I'd take a step back and make sure you leave emotion out of it. When you can, route him somewhere near you and take possession of your truck. Make sure you have all instances of theft documented as well.

    Be the bigger guy and offer him some help to get him and his personal property home and send him off with his last check paid in full. Win some lose some.

    Write him up a have him sign and if he gets written up 2 more times it's an automatic termination it's your company so your rules......
