Yep, with the states however, it's marijuana... it's ok for our Presidents to have a little 'toot for the snoot' or 'not inhale'... but don't you dare try to come in this country having done the same.

And t_wilson... nope, no more experiences like that--I have not even tried to go to Canada since. I'm dreading the day when someone in my wife's family dies or gets hurt, and she wants me to go to Canada with her. I was told that they now have a record of my little incident at Sarnia, and not to try to ever cross again without getting Rehabilitation.

Funny, it was always US Customs that I hated... didn't matter which port I went through--there were always pricks on the US side. I never had a bad experience going in to Canada until that one night.

I'm sure something had to have happened in her past to make her that way. Nonetheless, I'd still like to squeeze her neck until her eyeballs pop out. My kids were just crushed when Dad wasn't allowed to come home anymore.

And to all those US citizens who think maybe they'd like to marry a Canadian (or any other foreign national), think again--find someone in your own country. We went through 5 years of hell trying to get the immigration done. I wouldn't want to do it again. One of these days I'm going to write a book entitled: So you think you want to marry a Canadian, eh?

Well after doing more investigating I found out through the FBI in Virginia that I have nothing on my Criminal Record. I asked them how that is since i did get arrested for DWI in 1991, They told me that if a law agency never puts your record into the database and it was before 1995 it will not show any record. So I guess I'm good to go since Canada looks at records through the FBI. And since I have no record I'm good

That being the case... do not EVER admit that you had a DUI ever again. You don't want someone, somewhere to put that info into a database which will be around forever.

Actaally when I used to go up to Canada I got a visitors record, and they checked interpol for that, not the FBI.. Though things may have changed...

Hate to bring up an old thread, but didn't see it posted here. Maybe similar responses, maybe more of a "should I even bother " type question.
A friend and I are looking to get into a team hotshot biz, and my personal goal for us was to do runs to and from Alaska. Mainly, car, auto type hauling and moving people.
Looking to relocate families to and from Alaska was my main goal, so to be able to box in up to a 3 bedroom apt or house while hauling one car is optimum goal for me.
And the dui comes to question.
Yes there is links to read, I'll get to those links when I get home on a computer with no data issues.
So I have a dui in 1997 and did the time vs payment due to money issues. I was free and clear in 1998. But my DLs was invalid til 2007. I never got that part taken care of.
I have no felonies, just tickets and this DUI.
I'm currently a truck driver with perfect fits record. Since my DLs been reinstated in 2007 and since my CDL A was obtained in 2012.
What are my chances at this? Lol
It's kind of my dream goal, so I will do whatever it takes to make it a reality.
