Ok, to appease folks looking to go with Trans Am, and to get things going a little here: What are some positive points of your Trans Am days?

They gave me a second chance. I got plenty of miles. The dispatching for me got better once they switched over to new system. The same people on the same shifts so they knew me.

They gave me another chance too. They don't carry chains and you are not made to drive in poor conditions. Their tractors are automatics and nicely appointed with apus, inverters, fridges, Sirius radio ready and nice sound systems. Echo what Cranky Yankee said too.

When the King was with them home time was guaranteed and rarely missed. I can also tell you that the driver that fell and damaged his leg last year on his last day with TransAm was treated fairly. They paid his workmans comp with no problems and his medical bills for over 6 months.

    jungHo and gntorres61 Thank this.

All seven of the states mapped above show speeding among the top six violation priorities in the state. All but Ohio are a top 20 state in our moving violations intensity rankings Trucks are under particular scrutiny while on the highway in these states, which devote considerable resources to mobile enforcement.

Of the seven states, the two at the east-west extremes (West Virginia and Nebraska) are far down the rankings in inspection intensity, meaning your odds of getting inspected during a roadside stop there are low.

^ ^ ^ Understandable, but seems quite rigid. Biggest argument in favor of NC law, to me, would be the safety element: parking in those areas could be unsafe. At least some truck stops offer some security.
