    Do you want OTR?
Where is your location; maybe something regional or local in your area. Many tanker jobs or food service jobs are regional/local and hire new CDL graduates.

To be honest I kinda wanna try it for a little while but not for a long period of time because I have a kid . So when Jb hunt told me I would have to go OTR for 3 months before I get regional runs it was kinda perfect. I would love to see the country but I know I would miss my family

Being on the road for weeks on end is very hard on relationships. When you walk in the door and your son says Mommy, that man is back you will wonder why you did it. Chinatown has some good ideas for you above, you might want to look into those avenues instead of OTR.

I went OTR road when my son was 1. I loved being out on the road but hated being away from the family. I was lucky enough to be home on weekends and on some occasions I'd be home during the week. It was hard on him. He got clingy when I was home. He's 4 now and I'm working local. If it wasn't for my kid I'd be OTR indefinitely!!

I kinda' figured that; reading between the lines. I did OTR most of my career and it was a good fit for me.
Stay on this forum for a few months/years and you'll see many drivers want OTR, but don't want the little wifey to know.
Friend of mine worked for JB Hunt and the problem he had was they would run him to the Northeast and keep him there for weeks doing short runs. He was hard headed and lost his home because he couldn't keep up the payments, when he should have changed jobs.

When my daughter was young I would buy 2 copies of the same book and read her a bed time story every night as she followed along in the other book. If I was running around her bedtime I would stop and take the time to read to her.
Also I have a unlimited data plan on my phone so i Skype her at least once day. Plus I use it to help her with her homework.
Just a few things I did

He was only making around 3 or 4 hundred dollars a week. He should have quit and not put up with that. When he turned in his notice to quit, they immediately gave him a West Coast turn. He ran that, then quit. They thought he would stick around with that teaser run. He went to tankers and started "taking home" average $1200 a week.

When did JB Hunt start hiring new CDL grads?
