Hmm, that doesnt sound so bad. So you give them $5k and they immediately put $1400 into your maintenance account. Then after 3 years you get $6k back from the deposit plus any unused maintenance funds that are left.
So do you still get the $6k even if you walk away after completing the 3yr lease?

Lets say today is the final day of my lease, contract is done, I turn the truck in and no problems were found.
The total of all MY money that could come back to me after 3 years is my $135 per week maintenance fund + $1,400 bonus into that fund which totals $22,460 minus whatever I've spent in maintenance. Say I spent $7k over 3 years then I'd still have $15,460 coming back to me PLUS $6,000 which is my security deposit doubled and returned to me by SFI.
In that scenario SFI gets the truck back and they give me a check for $21,460.
OR you have the option to buy the truck at that point based on whatever number is in your contract.Landog, ghostdog, T_TRUCKER. and 2 others Thank this. -
T_TRUCKER where's the updates man?!?!

Been busy busy, lets see, from SC i went to VA, that load was 2.19, then from VA to IL 1.02 (yes i know very crappy) BUT im looking at averages for the week so im still right around 2.00, then from IL to MO for 1.99, and im on my way to columbus OH for 2.07, then to frankfort IN 1.72, ive got a date with a chrome shop, i ordered some visors for the door windows then im thinking about maybe a visor for the windsheild. Oh, from IN i booked a load going to wintersville OH paying 2.02. Last weeks paycheck i netted a grand total of 2400. And people say you dont make money leasing a truck working for a "mega" lol i LOVE IT! I love my job, I haven't been happier in my short time driving a truck, sure some people have different ideas of what "freedom" is, but im very happy with my freedom of running how and where i want, with nobody telling me anything! That to me is more important than the money, but im making GREAT money since I've been here! And im going home way more. My long term plan is to save save save, at the end of the 3 years im going to have enough to finish the lease, well im off to bed gotta wake up early-ish im 25 now, so im an old man and sleep is important lol, hope everyone is staying safe, freightwhipper i keep meaning to text you but since im typing now how did things go with your truck? Hope everythings good
ghostdog, freightwipper, RoadCall and 1 other person Thank this. -

There's lots of loads that always go there from many directions.
I've been there a few times to take pallet loads out of that DC there to Columbus. -
Ouch VA to IL for $1? c'mon man haven't I taught you better? lol
Yes averages are important but running 700 miles for a $1 all miles is never a good idea unless you're coming out of Denver then that's awesome lol.
Be careful once you get to Wintersville.. just a little bit more east and you'll be sucked into the PA/Northeast black hole.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well and am happy. How often do truck drivers say that? not much.
My truck is running fine but my new clutch doesn't have the feel the other one did. This new one feels a bit like a sponge. It's no big deal though I'm just happy to be back working again and I'm getting good rates. So all is well.T_TRUCKER. Thanks this. -
Wintersville sucks monkey balls!!
Doc_Hollywood and 91B20H8 Thank this.
