Last time I went in August my bp was 148/85, the nurse dropped the number to 138/85. Why you ask? I'm 26, 5'11 170 ibs, in great shape, bmi about 10% , and I workout regularly. She asked me if I was nervous and I said I got white coat syndrome, so she knocked it down like nothing. 5 years ago during my 1st ever dot physical, my bp was 137/88, next time it was initially 145/90, then they retook it and it dropped under 140/90. At that point I decided to see my doctor considering I was 22 and healthy, with no reason to have high bp. I saw the doctor on 4 separate occasions, each time the bp dropped. 1st time was like 160/100~, then 145/90~, then like 130/80~, then the last time was 115/75. He diagnosed me with white coat syndrome stating that as I grew comfortable with his office, my bp dropped. He told me medication might actually harm me and bring my bp too low.
Here is my issue. As I grow older, it will not be as simple as a nurse or doctor lowering my bp since they look at me in my 20's and in good shape and know it's inflated. If I'm 40 with this problem they won't pass me. I am screwed in the future, my white coat is so terrible, but can't be treated since my regular bp is average to maybe even below average.
blood pressure has me a little nervous

U qualified for a 1 year card with those numbers. The only top number was good the bottom needs to be below 90. Anything under 140/90 is a 2 year card

That is hypertension and could actually disqualify you period. Going to the doctor is a good idea, but keep in mind depending on the medication they give you, that could also keep you off the road (not all meds are DOT approved due to side effects). Look at your lifestyle and see if there is anything you can tweak to bring that BP down to a more normal range. If the BP is due to lifestyle you can change it in time, if its medical then it will have to be done by perscription. Caffeine, Nicotine, alcohol, fatty foods & diet, poor sleep habits, and stress are all lifestyle factors that will contribute to your issue. Try and get this under control if at all possible on your own, being out on the road things will only get worse and could lead to more serious problems.

Relax. Take a deep breath through your nose, slowly breathe out your mouth. Do this about 10 times, not moving around. Then let them take your BP.
