Is there a way to see what is on the board without already being a Choice driver?

To the OP, nobody is trying to talk you out of joining the choice program, all they and I will chime in, is that you will most likely have to leave the southwest head east to make good money. Been awhile since I've been out that way, but right now the rates are not very good headed west or staying west. With that said, you may can do alright running up I-5 and back down. The rates suck coming back down, but are pretty good going up, so it may average out where it can work for you. Chances are though you may have to head east then hop scotch back west when you are ready to come home. Skyviper lives in Denver and does pretty well, but he has a lower monthly payment on his truck, than the lease trucks at sfi. Results will vary.

Which speaks volumes of how terrible it is out there that people jump on loads to Denver.
You're lucky to get $1 going east out of Denver. Maybe $1.30 going west or North to the middle of nowhere.
Long loads generally suck.
When I was in Wisconsin I saw a weekend load going from Janesville, WI to Maine for $2800. Had an extra stop but was very light.
Still wasn't worth it in my option knowing the beating I'd take coming out of Maine.
As far as booking way in advance I guess it works some for some. The few times I did I had a load cancel on me which screws everything up including this week again. When I book a day or two out I've yet to have a load cancel on me.
If I lived in trash area I'd probably work where the money is for a while and then fly or drive a personal car home. Even that however depends.. some bad areas it might be worth deadheading to.
I went info Florida once to visit family and burned a lot of time working a trash rates in and out of there. Next time I know I'd rather fly. There's cheap flights from Atlanta and Chicago to Florida and I can park at an OC in either place. Paying $200 to fly is a loss but so blowing two days of driving in and out of there for fuel money. That's just me though.
Every situation and every person is different.
I think what goes for everybody is the more often you go with the money vs going where you want to go the better you'll do.
No matter what it's important to remember what we call crap rates is what most all other flease companies pay their drivers.
I made out $1.30 was bad but man that's more than most get doing a flease lol.Last edited: Jun 15, 2015
