The road conditions are already causing some problems in the area. I 44 eastbound at Rolla......semi accident expect to sit for awhile.

Rain. And more rain. And still more rain through Friday, June 19.
It's likely we'll have flooding in the usual areas and perhaps some flash floods on major routes. Keep an eye out for electronic messages and instructions.

Awww ....thanks, George. I think we all contribute and do our best .....we push, pull, lift and carry one another along all of the various roads that we travel. We may not have changed the bad parts of the industry yet, but we have changed our corner of it. Change has to start somewhere, why not with us?

I am camped out south of Chicago waiting for it to get late enough in the evening to be reasonable to cut across the city to get up to my final just south of Milwaukee.

I have had a light 5 days. Only about 2,000 miles, feel well rested for the first time since I started this job in April.

Thank you for the weather updates Queenie. I was in Arkansas and Louisiana prior to heading north and yes, there was plenty of rain.

^I think he does more than me, he takes NYC loads, I do not.

So far, I have been getting 1 long trip to the Northeast then one shorter trip like Omaha to Chicago, Minn or this last time to Louisiana ... then back to a long trip again.

The outbound trips from Omaha are solid, sometimes backhaul freight can leave me sitting idle.

I don't know if this will affect any of you -

Nevada Department of Transportation is warning motorists that a full closure of southbound I-15 near the California, Nevada state line will occur in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 17.

All southbound I-15 traffic will be held at Primm, Nevada from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. for overhead sign installation,” Nevada Department of Transportation states.

While the interstate is shutdown, crews will be working to install a sign that is a part of a $40 million project to build a new California Highway Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility on SB I-15, just south of Yates Well Road.

There will be NO detours around the closure on SB I-15, so all traffic will be diverted off at Primm and held during the closure hours.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and plan ahead. There will be parking facilities at Primm for food and restrooms.

Please warn other drivers of the closure!

And then there is this one .....I don't think anyone is still in a KW but here it is.

Eleven models of Kenworth trucks from 2011-2016 have been recalled due to a water leak in the wiper motor, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

More than 100,000 Kenworth trucks manufactured from November 2010 to April 2015 are affected. A recall investigation found that water was getting into the windshield wiper motor, causing the intermittent setting to fail. Visibility during weather with precipitation could be reduced and increase the chance of a crash. Corrosion and electrical shorts are also possible with the water leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

The following 2011-2016 Kenworth models have been affected:

    • 963
    • C500
    • C540
    • C550
    • T270
    • T370
    • T440
    • T470
    • T680
    • T800
    • W900

Notifications have not been scheduled as Paccar is still working on a solution to the issue. Owners can contact Kenworth customer service at 425-828-5000. The recall number is 15KWF. Owners can also call NHTSA at 888-327-4236 or visit safercar.gov.
