Just before 3 p.m., officals told News 9 that I-35 was partially reopened. In a statement sent to News9, officials said, "I-35 north from Ardmore is open, however, ODOT will be detouring all northbound traffic off at exit 47 and routing them off onto US77 and back onto I-35 at exit 51, south of Davis. The stretch of I-35 from the 47-51milemarker will be closed and traffic diverted for an undetermined amount of time."

Finished my two drops in southern Connecticut and crawled to my pickup in Palisades Park NJ. Got there six minutes before receiving closed and they gladly loaded me. Had I not made it, the weekend would have been spent in NJ. As it is, I can drop and hook tomorrow at the customer in Henderson NC, then head to the house. I think I surprised my fleet leader.
wulfman75, HometimeQueen and jungHo Thank this. -
Sorry to hear about two of your friends dying, HTQ. Prayers for comfort for you and their families.
HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
I've been sitting here trying to think of what to write today, but my thoughts are with the families that lost loved ones. Both friends had recently been in a hospital, one for surgery and one for tests. The lady that had surgery was sent home to recover .....insurance only pays for so many days. She was home a week before she died. The gentleman that was having tests was sent home......because insurance only pays for so many tests. He came home Wednesday, took his shoes off, laid down on the bed and died. According to the coroner, he had a massive stroke ....he was just shy of his 48th birthday.
Another friend's 16 year old daughter just had a biopsy for cancer, (thankfully it was benign), 3 days after the biopsy she had a fever, had difficulty swallowing and breathing. The surgeon that did the biopsy refused to see her until it was time for her follow-up visit the following week. Mom and Dad took her to Urgent Care .....she had a very dangerous infection....from the hospital.
We may have the finest medical facilities and professionals in the world, but it has become increasingly evident that it is only available to those who can afford it. I am beginning to think that good health care is out of reach for the ordinary working person in this country.
passport220, jungHo and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
And Pete, you have many friends .....I count myself as one of them. Hugs back to you.passport220 Thanks this.
