My instructor sure think he found a duck but I have 110 hours driving in 2 weeks during my psd training...he expecting me to do all the driving everyday
-
Its not all up to him, His FM has the major say in it. I once had a student that could have tested out in 1 week, but my FM kept us out for 2.5 weeks before he brought us in. Also depends on the loads that are available to get you into the terminal.FullMetalJacket Thanks this.

My FM told me 2 weeks but I'm not discussing that my instructor trying to use me to drive every mile the wheels turn while he kickback
-
Your instructor isn't the one who needs the hours behind the wheel. He already knows how to drive. I'm not trying to sound like a dick, but be thankful he is letting you drive every mile. Believe it or not he is doing his job right by allowing you all the practice you can get. He can drive every mile better, safer, and faster than you. Instead he is helping you get better with every single mile.Last edited: Jun 23, 2015
darthanubis and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
You would hate to be my student then. My expectation is you'll be able to drive a full 10hrs by the end of the first week! If you can't get your stamina up to handle that and I still have to pull your smart az out of the driver seat because you're tired after 5 or 6 hours of driving, I am bouncing you out the door at 50 mph when we pass by the terminal. That's just one of many expectations I have of my students because I know if they can meet them all, they will be safe, successful, and make it home to there families! None of my expecations are hidden from my student, they read them, ask questions about them and then sign they understand them before I allow you in my driver's seat.
You sir, need to show respect to this profession, your trainer, and the other professional drivers that are out there on the road with you. Everyone in this industry started in the same place as you, No one was born with a steering wheel in there hounds ready to drive. It is the students and drivers that think they know everything after 2 weeks that you see later on down the road when they are solo in the accidents that make the evening news.
Please for the safety of all of us here, open yourself up to being trained in a program that has been proven time and again to make drivers successful. If you can't do that, tell your FM or trainer and get out of this industry!
Sorry if this pizzes anyone else off, just a student with that kind of attitude shouldn't be behind the wheel of a big rig. I am now done ranting and raving, please return to your regular schedule program
darthanubis, FullMetalJacket, Highway101 and 2 others Thank this.
