My husband was pulled over for speeding (25 mph over!) and had been drinking earlier in the day so he could sleep. Bonehead move, yes.
Anyhow, he was arrested in TN on a DUI charge. He's licensed in CA.
His work told him he could come back after seeing a SAP. However, this is providing that he doesn't lose his CDL. The evaluation is $400 on top of any additional treatment. I make good money, but I'm getting kind of tired of cleaning up his messes and I refuse to pay for it out of my paycheck. (Not to mention all of the legal fees and flying out to TN for court. Hoping he can do jail time instead of a hefty fine.)
My question is, will he likely be losing his license anyhow? His court date isn't until September. I'm wondering if it's worth fighting and going through SAP if he's just going to be out of a job anyhow.
Note: I have no idea what his BAC was. That part of the citation wasn't filled in and they didn't tell him the results.

In short, his driving career is toast, and it also sounds like you need to find someone else to butter your bread!

I'm beside myself with anger at him for doing this. I hope it's registering with him how much he's screwed everything up for us. We had to cancel our vacation because of this. I'm also making him get his own checking account so we'll no longer be joint. I made it clear to him that I'll never bail him out again.
Oh yeah, and he's lying to his family about this.NavigatorWife, MidwestResident, pattyj and 1 other person Thank this. -
