The application I filled out for the company I work for now read, "Are you currently facing any criminal charges or under indictment for any crime?" You can sugar coat it, or side step around the wording all you want...but you fall under the answer yes to this type of question. You have been arrested and charged with a felony that has yet to be adjudicated, therefore, it is highly unlikely that any employer would be willing to take you on until the matter is settled by the courts.
pending felony conviction not drug/alcohol related

Then there is no "pending" conviction because you haven't plead out yet so you have to make a plea, go through your adjudication and then have a sentencing hearing to be pending. YOU have a pending charge, not a conviction.

You guys are just playing around with words. Like I said, the last application I filled out specifically asked if I was facing any criminal charges that were unresolved. In the OP's position if he were to be asked that then the answer is yes and more than likely his application would be dropped straight into the circular file.
He can try...there's no harm in that, but if he lies and gets caught that company may report him and it would affect his DAC and of course it also doesn't look to good to be lying to potential employers in the transportation industry when and if the courts choose to do a pre-sentence investigation on him prior to a sentencing hearing. -
Wise words. I hope the OP is listening. Not much more advice can be given on this.ChefBrianN Thanks this.

Thanks all.
I think I will wait a few months until my conviction to get my CDL. I called several companies, and most of them said the same thing, that they look at felonies on a case by case basis; given what my felony is, and that it is not dui/drug/driving related, I definitely have a chance of being hired. -
You probably made the best decision. All you have to do is wait, your time will come
Trucking jobs aren't going anywhere!

i recently got s weed possession charge in Ga. I also just purchased a truck and applied at AIS in Atlanta Ga as an O/O the guy said I'm automatically denied employment bc of drug conviction. Please let me know of any container companies in the Atlanta area who will let me lease my truck on despite the drug conviction.

youve already demonstrated your inability to follow the law regardless of what it was based on. No company is going to hire you. My suggestion, sell the truck, and go get a job at Mcdonalds, youve got zero future driving truck

I love it when someone kicks a troll right in the balls.
