Ugh taxes!
My truck only idles above 95*. I haven't tested the lower idle limit yet. The bunk heater runs me out most nights, once I figured out how to set it.

3400 miles!? They trying to kill you? Ha ha
-
Gonna get burnt out quick doing that. But the companies dont care......just hire another one....

I've never heard of a truck idle but two ways, 95+ or 17 and below. ALL CT trucks are set at this limit unless you have one that has the idle control turned off due to the shop not being able to fix the AC. They will do that on VERY rare occasions and then ONLY when the higher ups ok it. 3400 miles for $1100? NO thanks! Hell I make that running 2900. You are gonna burn yourself out trying to do that every week. There is also a cut off point for miles. When I ran 3300 a week I only made $45 more than running 2900 per week! I cut that out fast! Not interested in driving 7 more hours for $45.
jungHo and gntorres61 Thank this. -
I hear ya. No, I don't wanna burn out. Besides I don't plan on that every week. Maybe every other week or third week. I plan on regular hometime. Go out for one week one time, 10 days the next and alternate. If my wife gets her way, I'll be home EVERY WEEK. We'll see.

I finished orientation on Thursday and I am going out on my first trip with my trainer Vince tomorrow afternoon. I really like this company so far, but I know it's the honeymoon period right now.

Ok gotta confession to make. 1000 of those 3435 would have gone on the previous check. Since I Couldn't deliver until Monday after the pay period, it ballooned my next weeks paycheck. Yeah I probably would be dead actually doing 3435. I had Sunday off laying over in Vero, and lost another day in Jacksonville at Anheuser Busch waiting for them to load me. Conceivable it could be done and probably is done.

Lately I have had shorter runs. Been running at night too. After I dropped near Philly, I picked up in Fairless Hills PA and took that load to near Hickory. Returned to the yard, got my windshield fixed, headed out last night to Sara Lee in Valdese NC with bread trays from a trailer at the yard and swapped for a bread load going to Food Lion DC in Disputanta VA, near Petersburg. Drop and hooked. Went to TA in Ashland at the 89 and shut down. Tonite, leaving shortly for Nestles Purina in King William VA headed to Walmart DC in Shelby NC. Then to the yard for a Lowes DC run to Garysburg NC. Drop there and go home for a couple. Out 7 days this timr. Will go out for 10 days next trip. Nice to get home 7-10 days at will instead of 3-4 weeks. Deuces.

I had wondered about that. I get about 2300 miles a week pretty easily. Can't wait to see that raise next week.

You said it, Ladyfire. Nice!
