My weights
76880 gross
10920 steer
24980 drive
40980 tandems
20380 #5 axle
20580 #4 axle
I'm pulling a 48 ft spread axle flat bed. Already went back to the shipper once to have it reworked but I was running out of time and didn't have him put a pallet up front. Going to slide my 5th wheel a few slots and see how that does me.
would I get a ticket?

Why do you think sliding the fifth wheel is going to take weight off the trailer?
jammer910Z, unloader, Longarm and 2 others Thank this. -
Even if it would it doesn't help that much. To the OP, unless it's a short haul with no coops in your way I wouldn't run it. We can only do what the law says. Not your fault it's heavy.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

The boss man who has more decades driving then me said to do it. With my company if we get an overweight ticket they will pay it if I scaled it. If it's over and they say to run it then they pay it.
I'm only over by 1000 and 580 on one axle. I know sometimes there is wiggle room with the coops just wondering if they would let this slide.
Truck stop is too full to loose my spot tonight. I'll weigh it in the morning and report back if sliding the 5th wheel helped at all. -
It is not a moving violation so worst case scenario they give you a ticket and you keep rolling.

No, the worst case scenario is they give him a ticket and make him get legal.S M D, LGarrison, ridgerunner77 and 13 others Thank this.

That and my company will pay it. I think I've heard of them making you fix the weight before you leave. Since I'm off the hook for the fine I'll wait till I have to to move 1000 lbs of stones.
-
They could hold him until the company pays the ticket... But they will not make him get legal unless the driver runs his mouth
-
I've got a plan to get legal if need be. Build a box out of my dunn age on the front of the trailer. Transfer stones to said box and roll on.

Note to self, no runneth the moutheth.
