That's what I was thinking. I even asked here once what you had to do to get pulled over and the general consensus was driving like a DBGolga and Raiderfanatic Thank this.

DO NOT disparage me again.. there are consequences.

That's what an Illinois State Trooper told us when two of them were having dinner at a TA years ago when it was 55 mph for trucks. We drivers took the opportunity to pick their brains. They said as long as you weren't running down anyone, driving aggressively, they wouldn't bat an eye if you were running 65-70 mph in a truck. They had enough 4 wheelers doing 20+ mph over weaving and tailgating that were more dangerous than a truck loafing along at 65 mph.Golga, NavigatorWife, tsavory and 1 other person Thank this.

"if you were running 65-70 mph in a truck"
I hope you are not advising the breaking of speed limits..
... PhilipGolga Thanks this. -
Exactly. You only get a speeding warning if pulled over for speeding. But if it is warning, it's not going on record. Couple years ago, I got pulled over in Indy for left lane. Just gave me a warning and let it go. I threw it in the trash as soon as I pulled away and last I seen of it. There's a difference between inspection and traffic stops.Golga Thanks this.

I break speed limits. I also sometimes stretch the truth in my logs. Do I advocate doing either? No. This job is sometimes like a game, a game we all play and i play to win.Raiderfanatic, Golga and marineman227 Thank this.

Kinda had to wonder about those posts... Couldn't tell if they were serious or some kind of inside joke.
I honestly think we would all call ######## if any driver came on here and stated that they follow all of the laws all of the time...
It's not expected that the laws be broken, but nobody is perfect.
Glad you knew.Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
The DOT knows we do things like that. The key is to not do it to where it's totally implausible. Don't log you picked up in El Paso, TX and dropped in Ontario, CA and log you did it in 11 hours. Ain't gonna happen.Raiderfanatic, Golga and Vilhiem Thank this.

He wasn't. If anything he implied that Illinois State Troopers were advocating that.Vilhiem Thanks this.
