Texashoundog I used to train at Trans Am. The "Coach" you get is going to be a lease and most are new to this business so try and learn what you can. Trans Am was a second chance company for me.
Do not lease. They will make it sound so easy but its not. You have been away for some time. E-Logs have changed this industry in so many ways and most are bad. Learn the system on their dime. Goodluck

^ ^Scott, your daughter does have a good outlook on your job! It's neat how she chooses to (whether she's aware of it or not) be positive about you being gone, instead of crying over missing you so . :)

Wow oh wow oh wow!!! I am in utter shock! The thing I didn't think would ever happen just did (or is about to happen ). George has been running so hard that he is about out of hours with his 70 hours. His last drop was in Henderson, NC, about 2 hours from home. With just 4 hours left on his clock, his dispatcher told him, "Why don't you just go to the house?" Wow! Since we don't live near the freight lanes, I wasn't expecting it as even a remote possibility. And imagine my bewilderment, when he called, saying, "I have bad news & I have good news." Ooooh! That's a loaded statement! I halfway expected the worst. .. So, he's headin' home 3 days ahead of schedule!

There you are scott! It sounds like you are doing just fine ....all the rest of it will come with time.
If it doesn't then you will hear about it from Pete! :biggrin_2559: I have no doubt that you can handle him too! :biggrin_25525:
Your little girl sounds like a real sweetheart! It's great that you will be home more often to spend time with your family.....they grow up way too fast.

Enjoy the extra days with George, jungHo! It's great isn't it?

I have been working on cleaning out my garage. I am tired of borrowing one of the King's garages to put my car in. I am on day three of the clean-up ....I am surprised I didn't end up on one of those reality shows.:biggrin_25511:

It's a good thing that all of you are checking in ......I didn't have anyplace to stick my map pins ....so the voodoo dolls were becoming an option :biggrin_255:

In Austin, Tx. Have to go get my next load in Houston. Then to South Dakota. A few problems with truck last week, breakdowns, and now the load planners are making sure I run. From Friday morning to this Friday almost 4,000. Got my Mya on truck she isn't very good at copiloting but she keeps me company.

Ty Jaso. The do not lease seems to be the most common piece of advice given.
Jung I haven't drove in 7 yrs. I know I will be with a coach for 11 days
    I have another question
It seems I have read a lot about swaps. How are the miles handled on those. I mean it seems if a person had a 800 mile load drives 500 and swaps out for another let's say 600 mile load with 200 left on it would be difficult to keep up with my own books to make sure my pay is right. Why does it seem like they gave a lot of swaps. Is time the factor on most of these. If that is the case then why not assign better in the first place. I just don't want to be loosing money bc of constantly swapping loads.

it is a training company new drivers can't manage their time
they swap often enough they get in the habit of it
get the load moving fix it later
as you get familiar with routes and a working relationship with your DM suggesting better places to swap improves your attitude
