    You can retrofit any suspension to any truck. I've seen Volvo air on a 379, A friend of mine cut his 84 W900 in half and spliced a 91 FLD 120 frame/suspension on it, had a 88 W900 B with Pete AirTrac on it...................

    Think there is a 400 series on Craigslist in the Athens, OH area. No hog heads but for 600.00 is not bad.

    I have seen many cut and weld joined frames.
    Seems most chassis shops do this successfully.
    In house we always rather drill new bracket holes and gusset if we think there are to many.
    Always make sure you use chassis grade bolts with shanks that are a tight fit through any holes.

    I would prefer to bolt it onto my existing rails myself. It would be much cheaper to rent a mag drill than to have it welded. I will have to install a 1/4" liner inside the frame anyways since the truck originally had one where the axles bolted onto the frame.

    That's a sharp looking oldie in the works. Sometimes a frame rail from a different brand truck will fit perfect inside your rail and I thank they are all heat treated. Since you are not working on a roll off container truck requiring drilling 200 holes on each side you maybe able to get by with a hand held drill press. I have one I bought (20?) years ago off Snap On but it maybe Blue Point or something else. It will clamp on the nose of my 1/2" Snap On air drill and Milwaukee electric drill. It is a c clamp with a crank handle just like a regular drill press. You should be able to buy one for the price of a rental and you own it.
