How is the retirement package? Full pension?
-
All people that has car hauling experience are saying...Cassens is the place to be to make money. They pay full teamster benefits and retirement.
-
hey, i too have applied @ Cassens. the app was no fun & im sure u know that! i spoke with Jim [manager] who told me about it & i was highly interested, but i found out they were union. i was told to stay away from any union
. i believe Jack Cooper is also union, despite the 2 being reputable. u may want to research a company & get info from them directly before fully committing, but if it's not as bad as it's made, then maybe u can tell me about it. im young but im trying to get into auto hauling. i'm not prone to working in other cities though. i read some of your posts & u should proofread because u made some typos & it's unclear what u mean, starting with the 1st!

Solid Cold if the same union hater told you to stay away from $90,000-$100,000 a year with free insurance and retirement and home every couple days would you stay away? There are also some very good non union carhaul companies who generally have better equipment and pay about the same, although most of Cassens equipment is good. Most don't pay for full family insurance, but other than that I have heard they are very good jobs. Bottom line most of the Union haters that I have encountered had an axe to grind. Go get you a carhaul job and work hard and you will make money. Whether its a union job is up to you, but regardless a carhaul job is not easy but it can be very rewarding if you have what it takes to be a carhauler.
Colorato Thanks this. -
only if it wasn't unjust. i can't join or support an organization that seems to go against rights / freedom. it's simple for u to tell one what to do, yet not simple for one to do it with little experience. it's not being helpful by insulting intelligence. any rational helpful ideas are welcomed. u can view & post @ my thread if u want:

Then maybe you shouldn't take a Union job or maybe you should speak to people in person who have first hand knowledge. But it seems as if your opinion is already formed so it probably would be best to do what you think is the best option.Last edited: Jul 15, 2015

His anti Union rhetoric makes no sense, seems more political than practical. Maybe after he's been at it for a few years he'll change his mind

im 1 who uses my mind & don't take offers just to make $ knowing that a company is against good morals. i read where u have to play by union rules, whether u like them or not. 1 thing for sure is Cassens is union & i refuse to work under circumstances where im obligated to take part in something that's inhumane. i've spent more time researching than posting, so it's more fact than opinion. if anyone wants to join an organization to make $ despite what they stand for, then that's their right. im entitled to rights & freedom like they are to make mine. thanks for trying to help but telling me i shouldn't take it aint helping right now. the best option is what i posted in my thread

that's an opinionated claim with no help & it's going off topic. how about being mature & respectful by helping instead? u've been here longer than me yet haven't learned to respect rule #1. Don't Insult Other Members
im a peaceful & forgiving guy, but u got 2 options:
1] edit your post & apologize
2] keep it there & get reported
u got 24 hours since u're here frequently
