Well I take my driving test Wednesday. I think I'll do ok. Just a little worried about the blind side parallel. Then graduate Friday. Followed by leaving Tuesday to be in rockwall for wed 22 orientation. Unfortunately my wife got jury summons for the day I leave. So hoping she can get out of it to take me to catch the bus. So ready to restart my trucking career. As y'all have said get my experience and move on to another company.

You'll do great texashounddog! We'll send up a few prayers that your wife gets to take you to catch the bus. TransAm will serve it's purpose and get things restarted for you. You have a good attitude and a willingness to work with the system in order to get rolling again.

Thank you for the kind words htq. I'm sure I'll do ok. I just always get nervous before tests. And as for my wife. For her I know she wants to take me to the bus. It will crush her if she can't. I think she just wants to see me off. Which I would love to be able for her to do. Originally she was gonna drive me up there, it's only 3 hrs from the house, but finances will just not allow. So the dog will have to take me. Speaking of dogs I'm hoping after trams am I am able to find a company that will let me take my dog with that would b nice. Anyways I'm just going to relax this weekend and take it easy. And try not to fret. To all y'all have a great weekend. And be safe out there

Tx Hounddog orientation in Rockwall means you get the incomparable and entertaining, Mr. Cornell Collins. He runs a great orientation. By far the best of four orientations so far that I have been to in my short career. E logs and showing you how to use the treq communication system plus paperwork. Still, it will be a quick 3 days. After you do your year at TA, I would recommend you check out JS Helwig also in Rockwall as I think they start at 40 cpm, have a pet policy. Best of luck.

Sometimes I feel guilty here cuz I never ran for TA, although I DID go thru the process of signing on several years ago...sounded like a decent company but in the end I went out for a mom n pop outfit n got my year there. Never have done the mega thing--paid orientation, rental cars, hotel rooms...it's always been 'here's the keys good luck'. Oh well thank god for forum threads like this one, a guy can learn a TON. And thank god for guys like Pete, so I always know what I'm doin wrong ;)

Trip one for the new outfit is in the books. I get a pay bump if the trip was incident free (no violations, messing up equipment, missed times, etc)...was stoked cuz the trip went swimmingly, til I got to my first drop and discovered I had a pallet tip. Mind you, I asked the non-English-speaking loader fella to load it a certain way and I got the blank no habla stare. Pantomiming is also evidently not big south of here. So I load locked the best I could and beat feet. Long story short, can't say I had an incident free trip now. Lesson learned: put loader hombres in a headlock when necessary.

Dang I'm starting to sound like a real trucker, blaming the poor innocents for what's ultimately my mistake. I'll spend the next couple hours trying to determine corrections for next time, anyway.

Put Maggie's 'teeny' (her term for the small trinkets/toys/souvenirs I pick up when I'm gone truckin) on her nightstand. Looking forward to spending the day doin what I do best...hangin with the divas.

All y'all have a swell weekend, enjoy what you can and complain about the rest!

In Sioux Falls, SD. picking my next load up here then running all night. I have to learn the different options cause my phone has been ringing all day. Would just like it if it rang for only my wife
