Been back for three weeks and my miles are really, really low. I am ready and willing to drive hard! Will keep you all updated in a week or two. I have been complaining that about 2000 (paid) miles per week is not enough.

It's slow at may right now. Check lessors, joseph claims 4k miles a week.

That's no good. I might be starting with them soon. What about that 90/90 payment arrangement? Is that better than the CPM?

I been hearing the same story from a few of my friends, maybe freight is just slow right now?

I'm in the same boat. Almost 3 months, average miles is 2,000 a week. Lots of short runs. I'm located at a terminal that requires 3XX miles of driving before getting a good load. If I get lucky, I might get a load that gives me 2,000 miles. Afterwards, another 1XX miles before getting a 800 mile run maybe. Seems to be stuck in the same routine. Was hoping to get 1100+ mile trips all the time and see more of the country... not the same routes over and over again - not dedicated. One of my former classmates was in the same position, he was roughing it 2,000 a week. Just recently, after 2.5 months, he got a week that gave him 3,000. But he's on his way back to 2,000. It just depends where your terminal is I guess.

Crete is hiring. As an OTR driver I have been out to cali 2x's this year, been through Utah twice, been to Colorado and Texas several times. Of course been a lot of East Coast too. My average is about 10000 miles a month with about 4 days of hometime. Check them out.Lightside Thanks this.

I will take a look at Crete. Thanks for the info.Wild Murphy Thanks this.

I would go with crete, but they require 1 year experience, don't they? I would love to join schaffer, their reefer division.
Lightside Thanks this. -
Think you're right. Looks like the truck school I attended isn't even listed on their website.
You mean Shaffer? They drive the reefers.Last edited: Jul 12, 2015

Right now I am on a great load from WA to MA...but they will still have to scramble for me to make 10,000 paid miles with me taking zero home time in one full month. I will keep you all updated, but as an experienced driver, I should make at least $50k/year in my opinion. I will not stay here, even tho' I love my terminal family, if they give me consistently low miles. Let's hope May will keep me above 10,000 paid miles per month.
They are making plenty of money off of me with multiple pick ups and delvs. You can be sure that bumps the freight pay up nicely.
Will keep you all updated. Be safe!
PS, trainers at May make fine money, but we all don't want to be trainers
