Just went through this and finger printing is not required for employment. Also if you get a FAST card, that is as good or better than a police record check as the check is done by CSIS from my understanding.

Fingerprinting IS mandatory for a criminal background check. You seem to be a know it all for somebody that hasnt finished school or have their AZ licence. Are you a trucking troll lmao

Spent 6.5 years in law enforcement where I did these checks and as I said, I just went through it. There are two types of checks, a police record check and a criminal record check. A police record check just looks for any active investigations where as a criminal reccord check is done by running your info through CPIC which is the national criminal database.

"When you apply for a Criminal Record or Vulnerable Sector (VS) check, you "may be" required to give the police service or an accredited fingerprinting company a copy of your fingerprints."

The only time that I had to take finger prints, I believe it was twice, was when there were multiple hits with the person with the same name. You are more likely to be asked for fingers prints if you are working in the Vulnerable Sector, i.e kids than for someone driving a truck.

I did have my finger prints taken when I did the interview for my FAST card. Another reason to get a fast card, save on money because if the law enforcement agency makes you have to get your finger prints taken, that is $75 versus $50 for your FAST card.

False. Have had two background checks in 3 years. No fingerprints required.

Simply walk in to your local police station (in Ontario you have to do it in the city listed on your drivers licence). Pay them their fee (usually around $40), give them your information and in 2-3 weeks, sometimes faster, you get a report on what they found.
