Been here and beat this horse before. This is my settlement for one pay period. We're paid twice a month, I'm just a company driver, drive a company truck, none of this fleece purchase crap, just work for my paycheck.
Proof is in the print!
I will surpass $100k this year by a pretty decent margin so yes, in my case open deck (I'm not saying flatbed because it's rare I pull a "flat bed") pays a h#ll of a lot better than van/reefer/tanker etc. Now with that being said I've spent 27 years keeping my record clean, going the extra mile for my employer and KEEPING MY RECORD CLEAN to work my way up to this level. Did I mention keeping my record clean?
Do flatbed guys make more?

What is it when you factor in your deadhead?

You make about twice what I do but drive twice as many miles I'm not sure what I can do about this I drive the loads they give me.

I'm no longer sure....can't find a bloody calculator on this new computer of mine, and when I look at the numbers is does look incorrect.
Blame posting while tired. Spent too much time at the coffee counter BSing with other drivers instead of getting my gov't-mandated 10 hours of rest......truckon Thanks this. -
Here is what most drivers tend to not be able to comprehend, they want to start out at the top of the ladder where you have spent 27 years climbing that ladder to a higher paying job. You don't start out as a sergeant in the Army, you have to earn the stripes.
For me, a job is about satisfaction and closely followed by pay. I prefer to be happy at my job over what I make. You can be the highest paid driver in the country and still be miserable. Do what you love first and then you can work on the pay scale. -
Nope, just aluminum, titanium and carbon fiber. There's lots of pictures in other threads of what I haul.truckon Thanks this.

Haha, it happens man. Let me guess, it's got Windows 8? I'm part geek and had my own IT company but I still get lost using that POS. EDIT: forgot to add that it's .786cpm
Words of wisdom there bud. I always seek out the best possible pay but the number one criteria is that I'll be happy doing it. So many people get caught up with some nasty companies and/or jobs due to chasing a higher cpm or whatever.Last edited: Jul 18, 2015
